Long weekend

I was being approached several times to submit my photography portfolio. Without one, it's hard for people to hire me for any assignments. You can see those that I've uploaded from the link below.

Miss Mois Photo Contest

2pm in the afternoon. This conversation took place in Neoh's Residence..

Mom: Where are you going?
Me : Mois, a night club
Mom: Are you crazy? Do you know what time it is?
Me : Yes. And I'm late...gtg, bye.

Mois Empty
MOIS when empty

When we arrive, the cleaners looks like just woke up from their hang overs the night before and the floor is tainted with beer and other alcoholic drinks left over from last night. It took them quite a while to get the place clean, but finally I've broken my own principles - Never to enjoy myself in a Night Club.

Registration
The registration

The girls are all top of the class and is much better than the previous shooting I had in gurney a few months back.

VIP zone
VIP zone
We have the whole place for ourselves and there are like 1 girl to 1 photographer. No worries about not getting what we want.

LadiesPhotogs

While waiting for the place to be cleaned, we went outside for a few shots. The sun helps a lot and I can actually snipe away from afar with my AFD 80-200mm F2.8. The only problem is that other people will tend to block my view.

Tired
After a 2 hour session, the girls are tired, the photogs have also got what they want. All of us went for a drink complimentary of the host - MOIS and parted our own ways.

Reports from other events will come soon. Cheers~

PG2008 Annual Convention

It’s my 1st time attending a Toastmasters Annual Convention. For me, the experience is like taking a roller coasters – the cart has already came to the finishing point before you’ve enough fun. Like a roller coaster, there are ups and downs all blended together in the 3 short days.

The evening before the English session starts, I received a call from the videographer that he’s about to quit and drive back to KL. While the committee are running around to create/ solve the problem, I was having my hair cut at the saloon. That Samaritan must have been shocked to see a customer coming in with more calls one day then he’ll make a month. My face projects more worries than senior top management in a bankrupting corporation. But after getting myself groomed up, I drove down to Gurney to get the problem solved.

Being a photographer for such a convention is really an honor. This shows that I’ve gained enough trust to cover the whole event all by myself. Unfortunately, it’s a voluntary job, and to make things worse…there are cameras all over taking away the eye contact from the official photographer (a.k.a. yours sincerely). After all the work I’ve done, I was not being recognized on stage.

Why are those cameras there anyway?

And you think that’s it? After working all day, I go back to the room with a room mate who talks so much I can’t have a good evening rest. He is so immaculately hygienic that he took a whole hour staying in the shower while I wait outside without a key.

But, the convention is not all that bad. I’ve managed to meet up with Lincoln (MMU classmate) who happens to sign up with Gurney TMC. I sat together with him for lunch just to catch up with old times. What I didn’t know is that he is actually home to celebrate is 25th birthday. See-la, what kinda person am I forgetting a forgetting a close friend’s birthday.

I’ve been getting guidance from Christopher (Dell) in photography. Besides, I’ve also met up with one of the judges from the Division S contest, congratulating me for my inspirational speech. She even hinted that my name was placed 1st on her list. District officers and convention delegates have also been friendly and helpful to me.

After all the work I’ve done, the International President 2007-2008, Chris Ford approached me and gave me key chain that writes “a gift from your international president”. At that very moment when he holds my hand, my life changes 101 times. I learnt that, when you’re doing something noble, it might not appear that way to everyone. But for those few who appreciate your effort, be thankful to them.

Your's Sincerely with the International President

Birthday @ Rasa Sayang

April is a very special month in our family, it's a month of Birthdays. Mine's on the 2nd, Dad's on the 6th and Mom's on the 10th.

To celebrate their birthday, dad took us out to Rasa Sayang, Batu Ferringhi for dinner. He was given a discount card and he suggested that we should go there and indulge in some nice food. As the evening is still early, we took a scroll around the garden and have a few family photos.

You can see here, my parents are full of humor. Getting near their retirement, they are still happy and keeping up quite well.

55-years young, still going strong

Take one

Take two

We spent most of our time busy with our own work, and the last time I remember taking a family photo is during my Convocation 2 years ago! Hm...should we actually come out 2gether more often? Not counting the photo taken during CNY lah, those are like...candid/group shots only.

After hunting around a few restaurants, we decided to dine at the Spice Garden Cafe. On Saturdays, they are having Seafood Buffet. The place is full with people and there are endless variety of delicacies to choose from. There are Lobster, fresh oyster, fresh mussel, fresh tuna, salmon and eel, crab, blue cheese, lamb satay, abalone, jelly fish, octopus, scallop, fish roe, sushi, apricot custard, chocolate dessert and of coz, some tomato juice with Tabasco for Irene. Dad ordered 2 cups of coffee and took so much that at the end, we find that their sky juice tastes the best.

Since I don't give them anything after I start working, I offer to pay the bill. It's not surprising that the bill came up to RM660 even after a 20% discount. After the meal, we wandered around and I showed them the garden that me and Irene found suitable for garden events. Didn't take any photo of the place as it's too dark.

Before we left the place, everyone visited the toilet just to clear the gas and excess liquid from our body system. Just by looking at the laughter of my parents and girlfriend, makes every Ringgit I spent worth it.

Now...back to earning more money. :)
