The Last Samurai

Hm...talking about Chinese New Year, i've been watching 3 movies in just 2 weeks. Well, that's a lot for me. 1st was goin to watch the Magic Kitchen with my younger sister. That's just a stupid show i might say. Talking all nonsense and nothing much about Kitchen or Cooking. Not only that the movie sucks, the new GSC in Gurney Plaza also isn't as good as the Mega Pavillion in Perangin Mall. The sound system doesn't really give impact to the movie. Well, since i'ven't been in that cinema, so wut the heck.

Few days later i watch Silver Hawk leaded by Datuk Michelle Yeoh: our local Malaysian actress which have been in the movie scene ever since she won the Miss Malaysia back in the 80's. How frequent can we see a "Datuk" act in our screens ya? Hm...that's the joke that i always likes to play on my friends during then. Again, it's GSC that I watch this flim. That's because Irene haven't been to that place before. Anyway, got some wierd disagreement with friends and last minute changes. The movie is great, yet...the cinema doesn't really amplify the effects of the movie.

As for The Last Samurai, that's an Oscar movie that i would not risk watching in a bad cinema. So i end up watching it in Mega Pavillion, Perangin Mall. Too bad Irene was paying for the tickets, if not, i'd choose the centre seats so that i can get the best surround sound and clearest view. Anyway not bad also taking the couple seats. Hugging a love one while watching a good movie.

Ok, cut the crap... the movie is not only talking all about Algren (@ Tom Cruise). But the other actors like Katsumoto and hie son, the background, music and all...really gives us a through understanding of the discipline a samurai used to practice. From waking up in the morning till the minute the sun sets in the west, the samurais make full use of their time to practice everything till perfection. That's not what we have today. As long as can use can lah...aih~ I'm impressed by the women in their culture as well. Ladies, will you treat the wound of a person that killed you husband and make u a widow at a young age. Not only that, you'll even have to sit at the same table to eat with your husband's killer and wash his clothes. WoW! that's really a lot of tolerance~

Have i ever talked about how iPod and the batteries worked? Hm...maybe in a future post i'll talk about that...litium ion batteries and their disadvantage.

Two thumbs up for The Last Samurai. Great acting...hope there's some Oscar coming out of that movie. That's one Oscar movie that won't let me fall asleep.
