Anti Celebration "Theory"

Anniversaries and Birthdays, do we actually have to celebrate them? Ok, to remember an important date, show our appreciation or respect. But I suddenly think otherwise.

What happens during the time of Adam and Eve? Or even the good old days when seconds and minutes are not being introduced. When people haven't learn astronomy, have not learn about calendar. How does the people during then show their love?

My point here is that we do not need to wait for a particular "special" day to show our love to our partner. Neither shocked when we suddenly receive a bottle of stars, filled with love messages in each and every one it. NO!!! No reason is needed to ask a friend for a hug, neither do we need a reason to call back home just to say, "I love you mom". But how many of us does that?

We wait, wait and wait for a special date, a particular time, a specific place. There's a story where I came up with earlier on…
Wait,
How long are you going to wait,
For the arrival of that special day,
To open the bottle of Chardonnay,
kept in old oak for over two decades.
Come to think about it, maybe this is not a good example. I actually modify it from a forward mail. The original story goes like "Adam found a nice gown that his wife, Eve hides in the closet. Every time he asks why Eve doesn't want to wear that gown, she replied she wants to wait for a special day. Years passed and Eve died in an accident and the gown is still kept inside the closet. " So, do you think it's worth the wait? Even the bottle of wine might be broken, stolen, or turns bad after all those years right?

By now you must be wondering what I hate so much about anniversaries, birthday and other celebrations? Why huh? People are supposed to be happy during those days right? I'll be happy if I don't forget to attend, or to celebrate it. But it'll create problems, quarrel, and other undesired moments when I can't make it, forgotten about it, or just feel like staying back at home during that particular day. I might be happy a day before, a day after, but not during there and then that I feel like going to party around. Couples out there!!! How many of you have been through the same problem? Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Well, just a fruit of thought.

I've got a whole group of friends who turns 21 this year. They make a whole lot of fuss about it. I dun understand why. People themed "Sweet 16" but when I asked around how they theme 21, no one even know o it simply DNE (does not exist). So, save up money my friends. Buying flowers are super expensive during Valentines Day, Convocation, Mother's Day, and the list continues. Being with someone you love, everyday is worth celebrating.

will wine expired? any ideas? from my point of view, wine will never expired, neither it will turns bad. cos the longer u store a wine, the better the taste will be. ppl will treasure a wine which has been stored for years than a wine which has been produced yesterday. readers, dun u think so?

FYI:Wine will turn bad if it is not well kept.
today is a present...agree that would rather live everyday happily rather than wait for the particular day to come.
How many people in this world can really wait for the special day they supposed to do this and that?
Why not work for it when you still able to do so, when you still have the ability to do it?

blah...all these dates are just excuses coated with sugar paper. but dun u think its a bit selfish to say that u dun like to celebrate these days when u know it will make ur loved ones happy? i mean, yeah of coz u should treat ur loved ones nice EVERYDAY. but isnt it sweet if there is ONE special day where u can give someone this extra bit of attention and care?
think about it. Do u like it when people hold a surprise party for u on ur bday? honestly. U do feel special on that particular day if all ur friends go this extra mile to put a smile on ur face rite? the same goes to other people. they will b happy too and they want to be pleased by other. even if they sun say it out loud. but secretly, i think everyone desires to feel special. be it on bdays or anniversaries. that isnt too much to ask for rite? :)

guys, this is wat i found online. no harm in storing wine guys, depends on how u store it. waiting will makes one treasure the outcome of it. or else, y do u think ppl will actually pay so much to get a 10 year old wine.

living everyday to the fullest is a must. it doesn't mean that u have to wait for the day of celebration. BUT, those days are important too. i would say it's a looking back, it's a motivation. why do they exist? because of human weaknesses. if not because of "cheng beng", who will actually go and clean the tomb every now and then? cos ppl are forgetful. if celebration and holidays are not important, then next time go to work during labour day, nothing special anyway, u get a break every sunday, then why stop working on labour day? btw, birthday is not to celebrate for u've grown another year older, but a day to remember that on this day, how much pain that ur mum has went thru to actually bring u here. first person to call ur mum on ur birthday next time, not celebrating with friends.

anonymous, thanks for clearing my doubt.

3. When Good Wine Goes Bad

Those new to wine, and even those experienced imbibers, may question when a bottle has gone bad. Wine can go bad when a compound known as TCA, produced by fungus within the cork, develops inside the stopper. While not harmful to humans, TCA can wreck a great wine. Bad wine has a moldy, musty odor similar to wet cardboard. Similar flavors will accompany, leaving a wine anywhere from dull and fruitless to gag inducing. Checking the cork is another way to identify a bad wine. A dry, crumbly cork is a sign that air may have seeped through and ruined the wine. A very small amount (2-5 percent) of wine goes bad. http://www.thediningtaxi.com/index.php/thediningtaxi/friend/our_beginners_guide_to_good_wine
