Ipoh Trip (Day 1)
Baru tau the tour guide doesn't really know the place well. Kek Sim~haha...not really lah~juz that we have to walk a longer path to get to the destination. Took wantan noodles with prawn fillings instead of the usual pork. I never actually tried that as i was thristing for the HokkienMee @ known in most places as PrawnMee. Love it...
Next we visit Kellis Castle, spend the whole morning there. Go back to town, and visited the Ipoh train station before visiting a Japanese garden beside the Horse racing circuit. The train station have the similar architecture like E&O hotel in Penang, with the old sliding door lift. There are hotel rooms for rent there on the first floor. Just that it's still under renovation, yet a peep thru the windows i can see that the facilities added inside can be comparable with KLIA sort of place.
Had our lunch in town, some sort like the 大树下 in Pulau Tikus, Penang. They sell 炸料 (fried stuffs) which the closest i can relate to is 罗肉 (lobak) in Penang. The chili sauce is really yummy, it's the famous chilly sauce which is exported to other states. Perak produced the best chilly sauce. Anything that touches it becomes finger licking good.
Visited the 极乐洞 (paradise cave) near HooiMun's place. The entrance is welcoming, yet it has a scent of calmness. Inside the cave there's a lot of cravings, and statutes. At the back of the cave, it's open to a large garden which is well maintained. It's like Botanical Gardens in Penang, but better as there's not that much crowd, more localised, and there's a lotus pond, playground, and a foot massage path among others.
At night, we have 牙菜鸡 (steamed chicken with tauge) in Jalan Yau Tet *** (blocked by a pair of socks). All the stalls in the street only sell 牙菜鸡, and they still manage to earn a good fortune out of it. They serve those steamed chicken with Penang Koay Teow Soup. Funny thing i learn that Irene never tried it before eventhough there's one shop selling it a few blocks away from her house in Penang. Should bring here there to try it out someday to see the difference.
It's kinda late after dinner, but we still made a visit to the "Lost World" before calling it a day. The place is already closed by the time we were there. Just took a look around and take some pictures. Don't have my tripod with me, so end up taking the stone walls to support the camera to take those pictures. The place have a very low light, so end up taking pictures up to 15 seconds to get the correct exposure.
