DaVinci Code - The Movie

When i was in Popular just now, there's a classmate of mine that grab a copy of the chinese version of this book. Then when i was searching online, i found out that there's rumour spreading that it will be made into a movie, just like other popular bestsellers.

  • The Boston Herald claims that George Clooney, Russell Crowe, Tom Hanks, and Hugh Jackman are all candidates for the lead role. (ComingSoon.net)
  • Ron Howard has signed on to direct, and Akiva Goldsman will write the script. (Variety)
  • The studio is reportedly trying to get Ron Howard to sign on as director, even though there's no script. (The Hollywood Reporter)
  • The Da Vinci Code debuted at No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list and has remained near or at the top of the list for more than 22 weeks. Code is the first film in a likely franchise, with two other Dan Brown novels featuring the same lead character, Harvard prof Robert Langdon, either already in print or in the works.

SinChew did mention that Harrison Ford might be acting as the priest. I wonder who will be taking the role of silas, maybe some...smeagol kinda graphic might replace the real person. according to IMDb, one of the fan suggested Paul Bettany as Silas. "Yes, I have him in a toss up for Silas and Collet. I'd like to see a French guy as Collet, so Bettany could be Silas, he's practically albino anyway!!! "- mmrwings19

Who might be taking the role of Robert Langdon then? According to rosieecheeks, Jim Caviezel, or Clive Owen is the choice. Well, for more discussion, you can visit http://www.imdb.com/ . Do hope the movie is as good as the book.

    WS_FTP @ Streamyx

!@#$% WTF!!! It's been so many disconnection on the streamyx connection today. After i've told Irene only i was aware that it's some bug/virus like thing that functions on Kazaa that is the culprit. Hey, i'm not one who uses Kazaa for a long time. It muz be the 2 alpha housemates who's staying upstairs that is not aware of the dangers of internet and are never as cautious as old seniors like us. But today the connection seems quite okey dy...so couldn't be bothered.

WS_FTP : I'm always scared of using FTP. Maybe is because i always think that FTP is smth soooo great and complicated that i'm reluctant to go and use it. End up it takes me 30 minutes to an hour just to post up 10 photos online using Internet Explorer. But after using WS_FTP, it only takes half the time or even lesser and the chances of getting the photos thru is much much higher, if there's no disconnection on the !#$%^ streamyx.

Well, I've finished posting up all the pictures that i've taken in the recent week. Do hope u enjoy. Here's the page http://neohsphotos.fotopic.net

Happy Birthday - Wan Choon (Josh)

Happy Mid Autumn Festival to the rest of you out there. I hope everyone have a bite of mooncake for yourself (besides those who don't eat - bernard, justin..)

Last night we decided on a BBQ party on Wan Choon's house while celebrating his birthday party after midnight. Initially there's not much people there as most of the others are busy with their own activies - Aerobics, Japanese Class, Sleeping... Yet we start the meal 1st. Ying San and Siew Lee came back for the party as well. There's another friend of their's there, but not sure her name as she's not being intro to me...or did i forget her name? Aih, i'm bad at that.

There's this Onion rings, chicken fillets, and a whole big watermelon. For BBQ, wan choon ordered 72 pieces of chicken. Chicken wings is just nice for BBQing, but drumstick at a quantity of 20 pieces is really too much for a mere 20 people that attend. Lesson learn here is that always order below the number of aspected people to attend. It's Malaysia and usually people take a snack before attending parties. Not like in western countries where the food is being served just sufficient for the number of guests, us chinese usually have a lot left-overs which is not really a good practice.

Soon came the whole gang, and there's a lot of photos that u can download. Sorry the picture quality ain't really good. Not good at taking party shots, especially at night. The others like Shu Chao, Pui Zhee and Wei Ling came a bit later when we're about to celebrate Wan Choon's Birthday. He's quite happy about the celebration i can say....it's like 50 people there at that time. He is so thankful to us that he sang us a few songs. Even his vocals ain't that clear and musical, but his willingness to sing in front of a crowd is smth to be looked up to.

We ended the day by having a short walk while holding lanterns to Chang Wah & Ding Wen's place. I dun hold any of course...as it's just not me to hold a lantern. Dun feel like it in either way.

    The Da Vinci Code

Finally after spending three and a half days on the book. 12 hours slower then YiLing. All for the things i've been busy about, haha...actually i was just being occupied by the internet. Cause this trimester i've only 1 subject and nothing to be worried about, some more 1st week of the new trimester. That's why i can finish a 3cm book (defined by Tan Ming Zheng) in such a short time.
Wut I got to know from this book is the detail description of some of the classical paintings 500 years ago by this DaVinci guy. It's classified fiction, but all the facts in there is like open a door to the European World to me. Especially of France and England. It talks about the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, and the piramids built in Paris. Those who are in computer, ciphertext are also mentioned. There's also riddles in poems for revealing the plots as the story goes on.

Christianity and wut lies within is also a main part of the book. I'm not sure if StarCraft got the name Dark Templar from the original 9 Templar Knights or i'm just giving out a wild guess. And wut i can still recall is the compass rose tat we see in every map. Jesus is a prophet instead of "so holy",with a wife call Magdalene.

And there's The Priory of Sion - a European secret society which protects the importance of female in the society. Some numerous members includes Sir Isaac Newton, Botticelli, Victor Hugo, and Leornardo da Vinci. Then there's also a Vatican prelature - Opus Dei which is deeply devout Catholic. They torture themself just to remember how Jesus suffered at the cross. I find it better that they donate the blood for a good cause rather then letting the blood drain away.

There's so much twist in the story it's like a blockbuster in black n white. For reviews you can visit THE DA VINCI CODE. Wut i found interesting is that there's a challenge that was set on doubleday's page => THE CHALLENGE. I was stuck with the question on 1 degree north. Then i google for answer. It's not that simple as the same question was being asked by others who have finished the book. This Dan Brown...he has another book called Angels and Demons which is also one of the best sellers. I'll think about flipping thru the pages before buying. Spent too much on books this month. Actually spent a lot on other stuffs as well. Kinda broke dy unless my housemates pay me the rentals fast!

    Puteri Gunung Ledang

There's a WuShu Exhibition in Mahkota Parade today by our own WuShu Club. And I've also promised Wan Choon for a movie earlier on the week. Chyoli feels like goin there as well. Since i've space in the car, I fetch him there as well. Took Pizza with them before the performance. I bring my PowerShot SI1s there, so here are some pictures that i've uploaded. [WuShu Performance]. I din stay until the performance ends as i've a movie to catch at 8.30pm.

Talking about that movie, it's done by a chinese talking about the classical story. It's a good movie considered it's malaysian made. But, there's a lot of laughs that i can make out of the movie, or should i say critics.

At first, there is this Prince that have disorganised teeth that they filmed it up close. Wah lau eh!!! U can see they yellowish and food left in between the gaps of the calcium blocks. Then there's this Puteri of Majapahit. Ok, beautiful no doubt, but the way she wears her sarung is juz not right, there's so much flesh being squeezed out on the side of the armpit. Something fashion persuers will not be impressed of. And by the person choosen as the princess, it's kinda over the age of marraige, considered the old sultanade of melaka. They should've find someone who's like 10 years younger, or at least look 10 years younger.

Okey, then there's this fighting part where the Prince of Majapahit can jump up to the air 12 feet high, floats there like wut we see in Matrix, then everything goes into this mythical battle in another dimension, which was not well explained. And if u are observant enough, u'll see the BCG injection on the arm of the Prince. I never know that BCG's history goes back to the old sultanade of melaka.

Hm...i'll better not critic more about the scenary and the fake background on some parts of the movies. I'll better take the time and finally have a nice sleep.

Before i end for the day, here are some pictures my friend, SiaoKia took with his A75. It's on the WuShu Exhibition that's held on Mahkota Parade earlier in the evening. U'll have to login with this username:wushu and password:temp123 to see the results.

    Running Water

The landlord come and repair the house after one full year of waiting. The water was already leaking out of the tank and the bathrooms also have leakage. To simplify the worker's job, they drain away all the water in the reserve tank. So i was thinkin for a while...i can't contain all the water as i dun have sucha big container to reserve water but there's smth else i can do. Use the water that flows down to take some crazy snap shots.

So i called up Irene, who's quite pissed off by that time since she's not goin anywhere as i'm not feeling like goin out. We took the camera to the backlane, setup the camera while i stand under the running water. Then it's shots after shots. Well, here are some of the pictures which looks better. Do comment on them. http://neohsphotos.fotopic.net/c291220.html

the five people you meet in heaven

Here's the other new book after Tuesdays with Morrie that i've read 2 months back. Click on the link to see wut i've read. It's outta stock already the other day when i was shopping with a fren of mine in Mahkota Parade. Hope u people can still find that somewhere else. Please let me know if u found a hardcover of tat book. I'll pay anything to get that book into my collection.

Well, here's the book i juz bought y'day. It's written by the same author (Mitch Albom), in a similar manner - Plain, Simple and Meaningful. I found the hardcovered copy when i was shopping for Jinq's bday present, but i haven't read the content and don't really feel like paying RM50 for juz a small 200 page book. But they sell paperbacks in Popular in JayaJusco, Melaka. So i got it immediately. Finished it in a day or couple of hours to be precise.

Story about a repair man in a pier, Ruby Pier and how he meet the 5 ppl in heaven. The 1st taught him tat for one situation it can be different if looking from another angle. A person's death might lead to another living longer. While the 2nd person teaches him about sacrifice. 3rd about forgiveness, 4th about love and 5th is smth for u people to find out from the books.

Got another great news for u people. Juz read the website and the movie on that movie will be on ABC on December. Hm...see if i can download it from the P2P sharing softwares available. Hopefully there are some torrents for that novel. I know the movie will be boring, but juz for the sake of it.

It's a #1 New York Times Bestseller and it can be finished in a couple of days for slow readers. Think about this, we are willing to pay RM50 for a dress tat we'll never know when we might be using. But when it comes to books, people will have to think twice before they pull out a ten dollar note from their wallet. Asians, Malaysians....i'm not sure how many of you are like tat. Reading is an entertainment. I'm aiming for The Da Vinci Code, which will be the next book i'll pull down from the shelf.

    Sun and Rain

There's the sun, which shrines all day,
growing up the crops, and brightens my day.
How i wish its rays lightens the earth,
warms my heart, for fruits to birth.

Too much sun and not a drop of rain,
causes the land to dry and cry in pain.
Dry spells come for weeks and months,
Till no water left for chick and hunks.
Then i wish it all go away, far far away
and God replied, "As you may".

Started the fall, and fall of rain,
that showers the earth and cools my brain.
The drops of water given by God,
dampens the earth and passes the ford.

Pours the rain, and down it pours
flowing through padi fields and generator wheels,
working it's way through the pipes to our homes,
healing our thrist like angelic gnomes.

Down pours the rain for days and days.
    flooding the railways and by-ways,
flows out of the drain and into houses,
people worry carrying up their sponses
to the hillocks and highlands up they climb.

Worrying for sun and rain everyday
will I be sane or go insane?
who will cure my pain but me?
I guess wutever will be, will be.

    Pantai Acheh

Mornin went to Botanical Garden for some shots. Met this Primary School teacher of mine who was my form teacher in Standard 4. She remembered my name and even my father's. Gosh! i din know i was that naughty back then that the teacher remembers my face. Then there's another lady that came and talk to me. I was looking at her face and it seems familiar. I've been thinking over and over again for the whole day but i just can't remember. Cause tat person haven't teach me before, and i dun have such teacher @ lecturer. Then after my dinner only i realised it's yi ling's mom that's playing tai chi there. Hm...hope it's not wrong. YiLing pls verify that for me if u read this.

Pulau Tikus no island, Pantai Acheh no beach, Weird weird Penang. Y'day when i was on the hill looking down to the Sungai Pinang River Leg, i was hoping that it's a nice place as it's looking towards the sea. But when i was there i was kinda disapointed because it's low tide and it's all muddy out there. No time to really go and pick out the nice photos tonite as i only arrived back home about an hour ago.

Went there to wait for sunset. But dad was teaching me how to change a tyre which kinda delayed my journey a little. Then there's this Pantai Acheh which is actually a fishing village @ a Pekan (Small Town) where no one is bothered to go to the beach. Now i finally realised there's a lotta more "ulu" place still in Penang. Then after losing my patience and being shoo away by the mosquitos, i go back from the way i came and detour to Pulau Betong. That's another stupid place where i can't get nice shots where i reached another small Pekan outta nowhere. It's late and there's no boat out there nor any scenary for me to shoot on. Maybe it's not all stupid if i'm there in bright daylight.

Was so hungry after that. Can't wait till i come down to civilization to have my dinner. It's almost 8.30pm already and i only have porridge for lunch. So I decided to go to Teluk Kumbar for dinner. There's this Satay there that Sheena was asking me to try it out during her bday which i din manage to make it. Tried out their famous Mee Udang and Satay. The Satay is not as oily as those we have in the city which is kinda healthy in a way. While the Mee Udang tastes a bit like CLHS's Mee Jawa with 3 huge prawns on it. Same goes to the Mee Goreng that I've ordered. U know how much they charge for me? RM17 for a plate of Mee Goreng and Mee Udang. Hm... is that suppose to be expensive or wut? Yeah, i know Kayu Nasi Kandar i took 2 years back cost me more then this, but...nvm...

    Butterfly Farm

It's so foolish that people in Penang doesn't go and visit their own Visitor's Attraction while they always try to visit some far places like Europe and Austrialia. I haven't been to butterfly farm for quite some time. It's been like 8 years since i've visited that place.

Like i've said, i was planning to visit Pulau Jerejack y'day. But mom says there's nothing there and the place is so hot that it's not worth the trip. So i ended up starting my journey at 6am and i waited for the sunrise at the same spot i visited last nite. Taken some acceptable pictures. Hey, that's wut ppl call "practice makes perfect". Haha...this time i ain't late no more. I was there early and got time to walk quite some distance to get some nice pics. Spent around 2 hours there just to wait for the right moment. Too bad i can't actually see it rising from the east as it's blocked by the peninsular. Redang might be a better place to snap sunrise.

I was so hungry then that i took a bite b4 departing for the butterfly farm which is on the north side of the island. I should've been there y'day if i wanna take sunset. Ah well, maybe tomolo i'll go with my parents or wut. The place is still well maintained juz that it's quite near the water reservoir. Haven't been able to took much nice pics there though i've finished the whole 128MB. Amature i suppose...haha...i'll have to practice more to get more nice shots. The ticket is RM10 for locals, but i feel it's worth it as i spend about 3 hours in there. Taking all the nice shots and stuffs. If it's not because of my stomach, i'll have spend another 2 hours there.

Visit the water reservoir for a while and was forced to run when the rain comes. Went back thru Balik Pulau which is on the other side of the island where is not really tat developed. Have a lot of scenic views along the road i shall say. Anyone interested to visit Penang juz let me know. I'll be here till nxt Wednesday. Or durin my nxt trip back for my holidays. Have Balik Pulak Laksa for lunch which is G.O.O.D!!!

Totally worn out after that. Anyway...here are some pictures that i've uploaded. The connection is too slow with the 56kbps modem. Will upload the rest when i'm back in Melaka. Butterfly Farm

    Photography: Penang Bridge

Have been doin quite some reading on the holidays. Not for supplimentary exams though, juz some books that interests me. I've got this Photography Monthly that give tips on how to capture picture and where to capture them. Paid quite a lot for a mag, but i found it worth while.

Went down to the Coastal Highway to try out some shots, mana tau the whole island is jam. It's Friday, and another thing is that 7pm is really not the right time to be on the road. Here's some lessons that i've learnt from my today's attempt.
Wear long pants - if u dun want to get mosquito bites
Proper shoes - u might get muddy and ur feet wet
Cap - in case of rain
Extra batteries - it's so uncool to run out of batteries when u have a nice shot
Torch Lights - for better effects
Tripod - to hold ur camera still
Other then that, always be on the spot earlier if u're taking a scenic view. U'll never know when there will be a traffic jam like i caught in today. Especially people like us who lives in the city. Going for sun rise tomolo mornin'. Hopefully i can have a better experience. Might go to Pulau Jerejak or Butterfly farm after that. We'll see about that...depends on my mood

    Belated bday to YiChen

I dun know why i always tot that this gal's bday was on the 9th. Hm..my mistake. Happy 21st bday to YiChen (6th Sept). This gal is goin to have a party tomolo nite. Too bad i can't make myself present as i dun hav any transport to go down. I'll make it up with you when i get back. Dun worry, i'll deliver a present as promised. Have fun!

Other story, i've been reading this Buddism book for the past few days and i found one doubt:
The book if compiled from forwarded mails, or
Forwarded mails are essense of books

The lessons that i've been reading from religious books and Easop fabbles are all like a compilation, or issit that i've been reading thru it from forwarded mails? Well, dun treat those mails ppl send u as junk mails unless u've read thru it. There might be lessons there to learn from.

There's no use of juz reading. It's application. Yet application itself is useless if no one appreciates wut u've done. I've tried to listen to wut my parents tell me and it seems that they'll still treat me as a lil boy and not grown up yet. Wut is the use of it? Reading all those materials they asked me to and do all those tasks without them asking me. That's not some changes the appreciate? People might be asking a lil too much from us sometimes. Not appreciating wut we have done yet always complainin about the mistakes we did. I can't even make mistakes at home, how am i goin to accept the pressure i might have working in the future?

Met YeeWee last nite for dinner. She was showing me this Health Suppliment she's selling and i kinda impressed with the changes she have been thru, learning to be more serious minded rather then the playful self i knew few years back. Maybe is the pressure she got from being an engineer that makes such changes. Am i goin to be an engineer in the future? We'll see about that. Marketting is one of my greatest fear. Have been avoiding direct sales as much as possible but i'll try to face it slowly. It might helped to build up my self confidence in certain ways.

    Good Mornin Malaysia!!!

Rainny monday morning makes it such a nice time to for a good sleep. Was dreaming about those men-made-rain and was like explaining to myself recalling all those steps to create such type of rain that water the crops on a dry season.

Yesterday that sampat May came back from UK. Went there with Irene and Yi Ling. Tat gal haven't changed a bit, still tat high pitched and farnie. Erm...but she's a bit "slimmed down" dy. Haha...better not use "F" word to make her furious. Have nasi kandar with her family in Craven Cafe near Batu Feringgi. Her nephew which is 4 years old was kinda hyperactive, always being the center of attention and got along with him quite easily. His name is Daniel, better jot it down here in case i forget. I'm kinda bad in remembering names.

After that we go to visit May's relative's house around that area...dunno Jalan Gurney wut wut. The 3 story building is very well designed. The interior, the exterior are all made in such a great combination. Muz have been the improvement from the "florescent" ages which is "too chinese" in some languages. I liked the place, but i'm not sure if i'ven't seen any "flaws" in the hows yet. But the place is well cleaned, muz hire a maid to clean the house nxt time if i've such a big house one day. Can't expect my old fellows to clean the place everyday, and me and Qi will be bz with our own stuffs as well.

I was so tired after dropping Irene and Yi Ling back. With my sensitive nose caught dust again this mornin when i was helping up mom to mop the small condominium i'm staying in. I missed the chance to fetch dad back from the airport when he fly back from Singapore. Hm... but at least i have grandma's home dishes that they bring back for me after they have dinner at 4-D MK13 Restaurant.
