Back in Penang

Woke up an hour late as my alarm doesn't sound. Met chyoli having fun with his friend in the dim sum shop when i was packing some breakfast. Haha...he muz have been caught by surprise. But as a friend i certainly won't go and disturb him when he's having all the fun.

Drove straight to Cyberjaya to fetch HoayLing's brother. Called Lincoln when i'm in front of his hostel. Too bad he's having his CoCu paper in the moring so can't come out and meet. Hopefully can see him in Penang lah, this busy friend always running around Malaysia, hard to meet him even during the holidays.

Took straight drive all the way out from cyber and only stopped when i'm in Perak. Took a light lunch there and continue my journey. Bought some jambu air back for mom as she loves to eat those. Left HoayLing at the Juru toll and reached home around 2.30pm.

It's nice to reach Penang Island again. The place is still the same after 2 months away. Only a few new buildings that i can see. Have quite a long talk with dad about the "mini theatre" that he plans to fix. Juz a simple one from what he explains, but he explain like it's IMAX or wutever technology. Well is 800x600 is good enough for him, then it should be good enough for me.

Qi came back earlier from library as she knows that i'm home today. Dad treat me at a seafood restaurant near here. There are crabs, fish and also nice ikan pangang among others. Thanks dad!!! Well, showed them most of the pictures i manage to take with the camera the bought me. They must be impressed, if not proud they haven't wasted money on a "just another gadget".

Bernard is coming back on the 2330 flight. Goin out with him tomolo. See when he's gonna contact me. Night world

NTV7 Trip

Continue from the previous post, as i was there, i waited for her to do her stuffs while reading some materials that i've been carrying with me. Luckily I went there are the correct moment as she was almost finishing her practical training and have some time to spare for me.

She took me around the Studios, show me some of the News Anchors, as well as the WOW FM DJs. Got to meet some familiar TV faces and some famous people that i don't really know by name. Took quite a lot of pictures, and managed to get into their news room which is like quite a strict place to be in. If i've not mentioned on the previous post, I was there around 2.30pm, and the security guards are so kind that they allow me to park at the lot allocated for the people from the censorship board. Saves me a lot of trouble finding a place.

Some of the pictures are not well taken as there's not much time to have a lot of "studio shots" with those busy people. But quite a satisfying trip as i got to meet them in person and get a little souvenior for my younger sister Qi.

Leave the work place around 1830 hours and head to Sunway Piramid for our dinner. Decided of having it at Fish and Co. The place is soothing, food is aromatic, but dunno why i feel like vomitting. Eat too much salmon at one go gua~if not should be the garlic that i've been taking must have filled my stomach with air. OR issit because of being too tried driving alone after only a few hours sleep the night before? Anyway, i'd really like to thank Shiau Fei for the meal!

Took just a few photos there with Shiau Fei as I don't have a camera back then when i knew her. Well, these photos really means a lot to me. Drove her back around 2200 as she have to work the next day. Driving back ain't that bad at all as there is not much traffic and the sky is nice. Reached Bukit Beruang in something like 1 hour 30 minutes. But it's raining cats and dog when I reach Bear Hill. Suppose to feel tired after out all day, but i'm still energetic enough to online before i sleep. Wonder what time i can wake up tomolo...but it's holiday, does it matter?

I've uploaded some selected pictures on my Fotopic. No time to go edit the photos, so here it goes... Trip to NTV7 and Shiau Fei @ NTV7

One day trip to Shah Alam & Kelana Jaya

First post inside the office of NTV7. haha...drive all alone down to KL since Irene is still having 2 more papers to go. Well, goin down alone ain't that bad at all. Drive all the way down LDP then to Kelana Jaya to meet YiShu Jie Jie. Lucky me... terruuuuss drive until the parking lot and juz park a few cars away from jiejie's car.

Have lunch with her somewhere around Kelana Jaya which i dun even know where it is.. Nice laksa. Thanks for the meal Jie. ;)

Then i tot i'll be that lucky with Shah Alam. Mana tau, Glenmarie Industrial park is different with the Shah Alam industrial park. The Hitz.FM cruisers is at the Caltex station. I only have 20minutes to get there. But i end up rounding approx 35 minutes to get a nice motocyclist who shows me the correct direction.

It's not that hard to get into NTV7 also. The security guys are so kind to me. Maybe is because of my cute little face and innocent look that deceived them. Haha....ok lah, give the computer back to Shiau Fei dy...continue the story after this.

Finally finished my EMG paper

Only took one subject this trimester, so no matter what happened, i can't get bad results. It's the only time that i either score, or i flunk. I only manage to get 9/50 for my midterm. lose a full 25 marks for mistakenly use the wrong coordinate system to answer the question. !@#$# why did my eyes decive me??? Cylindrical and Spherical oso see wrongly. Aih~kek sim...i know how to do the question, just that the ...the....coordinate system....argh!!!

Thanks to Irene for being so 细心, choosing a 爱心饭盒 for me... all the veggie that i loved when i was tensed before exam. The box got all my fav, and she takes more carrots juz for me...as i'm a carrot lover. And she also forced me to study for the past week. If not for her, i'll be back home downloading songs and drama series. Wasting all my time on reading photography books on the very last moment. Love you gal... 1st time i can actually thank her, as for the past few trimesters, she's the one to blame....(or at least how i would like to put it) when i'm not doin good on my papers.

Went 30 minutes earlier to the exam hall. Cool myself down and getting used to the atmosphere. Turns out the paper is relatively OKey. Quite satisfied with the paper. Hope Dr Murthy will sayang me...give me higher marks. Holiday now, yeah!!!

I'm worth $1,745,380.49! How much are you worth?

On another story, Utusan Malaysia have made an interview with Samy Vellu about the recent complains about highways(MRR2), and landslides. There are even some parties which wants him to retire from the ministry. Here's his side of the story.PMC puncanya, bukan JKR

mIRC and BitComet

I've been using BitTorrent like for a year already. Just heard about BitComet recently from uzyn's blog. I find it faster as well as it doesn't need to be hashed when ur computer suddenly hangs and u need to restart downloading the file. As for the faster part, i'm not sure how they does it, it's just pretty much faster. Finished downloading Smallville and CSI:New York season episode in one day. That's considered quite fast as i'm sharing the line with another 4 fellas.

For those of you who haven't download the latest version here's a link where u can download the file sharing tool. [Bit Comet 0.56]

Screen Shots from www.bitcomet.com

As for mIRC, i've been downloadin a lot of albums from NullusNET #mp3z for testing before purchasing the albums. The downloads are fast, and compared to Napster and Kazaa, the files here are clean and encoded in 192kbps high quality. I've tried downloading music videos from EFNet #videopimp. But due to the limitations of my 3 year old laptop, I seldom do that. Scripting and command line programming skills are required, basics i mean, but it's worth the while.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Muslims celebrate 2 hari raya (celebrations) every year. Aidiladha which is celebrated on 10th Zulhijah of the Hijrah calendar. It's also known as Hari Raya Hiji @ Hari Raya Korban. Another one is Aidilfitri which is celebrated on 1st Syawal after fasting one full month of Ramadan. It's also known as Hari Raya Puasa.

I don't have much friends who are malays or hindus. So...no invitations received. Well, but there's a chinese friend that invites me to his open house tonight. Huh? Chinese Muslim? Nope...stories after the event. Here are some pictures to share. Took it in the malay kampung near Jaya Jusco, Melaka. Careless me forgot to bring a tripod out...so here are the best i can do...

Yasir Arafat Dies at 75

When your country is not strong and solid, even if you're their leader your burial ground will be determined by ur enimies. That's what our Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak mentioned to the media yesterday. He hopes that we can learn from the Palestinian. Yasir Arafat was being buried in Jerusalem, Israel instead of Palestine where he hold's the support of the people.

I just learnt that this strong man was a Noble Prize winner back in 1994 for keeping peace in the Middle East. It's sad that he died of old age, which is quite a loss to the people there. Something that happens a few days before their Hari Raya, really unfortunate.

I've found a Flash for the Obituary in New York Times quite informative. You can have a look if you're interested. Go to The New York Times and click on the Obituaries section. Savior so most, Satan to some...u'll certainly make enimies if you want to go up the top. Well, here's another report on Philadelphia Inquirer. Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust, May your soul rest in peace old chap.

Importance of Shopping

I was not feeling well today, or at least not after being asked to come back early last night at the very last minute for her presentation. Well, i can't take it out on her as she was goin to have a presentation early in the morning. Helped her to polish her introductory part, which i still find a lot of flaws in the slides, but get her in path so that the presentation will move on smoothly.

Then she took the car out with her friends to do shopping. Yeah, i dun like shopping, so just let her go out with her friends. She was happy when she's back, showing me what she have bought and all. As her conversation never goes more then 5 minutes, she have finished showing me all the things she have bought the whole evening. Well, i wasn't that impressed, though she showed me a bag that I'd love her to use, and a mini skirt that's totally-not-her. It might be due to the disatisfaction i've been keeping for the past few days.

Anyway, come back to the topic. I haven't get anything to eat besides the ice cream i bought on my way back from campus. So decided to drive down to Jaya Jusco to read up some books. I guess it really helps me a lot. Found the Illustrated version of DaVinci selling for RM96. Luckily i din buy it when i was in MPH on Friday (RM109). Yet, i still have second thoughts weither to get it or not. Left the bookshop after a while as there's not much new arrivals. Been there too frequent dy i guess... :D.

I dropped by Cultural Land for a brief walk. Trying to find a book on 太极四十二式. That's because i saw the 师傅 bringing a copy of printed books during the training on sunday morning. It was imported by that particular bookstore, and it was only sold for RM18. Too bad there's a limited variety and there's not one which suits me. Maybe have to go Mahkota Parade to see if there's more choices on the branch they have over there. But instead of spending RM20 for a pair of slippers, i manage to find a book on photography which attracts my attention. Happily paid RM18 for it and go back a happy person. All the bad mood i have on her is gone, guess that's the fun of shopping that you gals never know how to explain.

What i can think of is that when i'm bored i'm either out of new knowledge to share, or out of topic for conversation. So instead of spending hundreds of dollars to get new clothes to impress your boyfriend, I took only a portion of that to make myself happy. Can't wait anymore but flip through the pages once i'm back home. Learnt quite something from the book, but need some translation as it's written in Mandrin. Dad must be happy as i'm reading mandrin. He hardly spend time teaching me how to read during young, but he encourages me to read mandrin books. Hopefully he'll like this book. Shopping really makes me happy, especially shopping for knowledge, and not cuteness and fashion.

Apologies to Sandy & Sheena

I was all worn out now, can't help it but to decline Shiau Fei's invite to NTV7 to watch Fish Leong and Nicholas Teo's performance. She's a great friend and I never wanted to decline her offer if possible, but my body just can't take too much of travelling as exams are coming up soon, and the travelling and rangoli that i've been doin is really taking a lot out of me. Really sorry to decline, she called me so many times to confirm my presence, and also helped me to get a huge handsign during the Malaysian Idol's finals. I'm really sorry Shiau Fei, i'll make it up with you some other day k? Enjoy ur trip back to Jitra, Kedah. Happy holidays!!!

Another rejection I've to made today is from Sheena. She got me a great offer on selling party packs on Christmast/New Year celebration. Calling me up all the time since a couple of months ago, getting the cheapest price for me, and all. Then at the very last minute I let her down. But risking thousand over ringgit for my 1st investment really need loads of consideration. My main reason might be due to the busy schedule during the holiday season, no time to earn money/learning to earn. Hopefully i did not make the wrong decision lah. Sheena, hope u earn a lot lah, nxt time i come back remember to belanja me ya~.

Record Breaking Event

6th Nov, Batu Berendam Badminton Court - Creative Arts Club, newly formed in Multimedia University organised the Longest Rangoli event here today. The previous record was approximately 250 meters long. The organiser & president of the club Mrs Florence Leong Ching Yin planned to have it broken by another 150m to reach a full 400. By the end of the day, the made another extra 4 more while waiting for the time to pass. The event ended earlier then plan, and there's a lot more time left while waiting for Datuk Prof. Dr Gauth, En.Zam & another VIP to arrive.

Having a lot of fun over there, helping up each other and for friends which are from different major, it's a good time for us to catch up with each other. Tiring it is, but it's harder for the malay girls which skipped lunch as they are on the fasting season.

Here are some pictures i've taken during the event. As well as some other friend's gallery.

Vivien Lim's Birthday

Just came back from Vivien's birthday. Luckily i left early, if not wonder wut time i'll be arriving driving under heavy rain pour on the way back to melacca.

Got to KL right after the course registration thing. Arriving there is already a problem. Irene don't know the road. We're actually suppose to go to Damansara to get the "Hamper" she won. But she told me to turn into USJ. Which is totally a different place. Well she was starting to get impatient then, wanting to give up the idea of getting the RM400 worth of Sicily products. But she feels better after reaching Damansara Uptown and got her hands on a bottle of perfume and another body lotion. Well, i can't afford to buy her such expensive products, well i'll just take it as bringing her there to get those items will make her happy.

It's already ten past two when we're in Damansara. Midvalley was way out of reach and we're having an empty stomach crying for food. I heard 1-Utama is having a new wing just built, so giving it a try. Been there a couple of times dy over the years as my 5th aunty (dad's sister) was staying in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. But it feels totally different with the new wing attached. The place is so much bigger and I will much prefer this place to Midvalley where people are all packed over there. There are a lot of fashion boutiques as well, sufficient enough for shopaholics. What's new to me is that there's a cafe inside the Seed outlet (Seed Cafe). I think the idea is for people to go there and grab some cakes and continue shopping - crazy shoppers. But what i love there is the MPH. It's big enough (2 floors) for me to spend a week reading there. They have the singapore ghost story writer there as a guest during my visit. The DaVinci Code have a new illustrated version which cost RM109. I was so eager to get my hands on the book, but after considering all the money i've spent for the past week, i'll rather save it up. There's also a FCUK outlet, but the shirts are too expensive dy. T-shirts were sold for RM80+, but the price tag tere is over RM100 for the same product. No discounts some more :(

It's already quite late when we started to head for the car. It's raining cats and dogs and some more it's 6pm - in the middle of peak traffic hour. Got through a lot of miss directions until Irene is totally pissed off. I can see that she is not really fond of going to my friends party, so I think i'll better opt not to bring her along next time if she feels that way. No purpose having someone there unvoluntarily. Reached there finally after getting help from a kind Malay guy in the petrol station, and also thanks to wendy sia that gives me directions over the phone. Can't eat much actually as my mood of having fun was being spoilt by the traffic jam. Not really feel like being there as well, but since i was there, i'll rather enjoy rather then showing a frown.

The three friends that come along with me din't help up much on the directions, i'm not sure if it's good or bad. More opinions might cause a headache, but sleeping there will not be the right way as well. Might be due to the frustration aroused that caused those people to be afraid to speak up. Luckily I'm able to come back in one piece and blog today. Going to have some record breaking event tomorrow. Can't write much dy~good night folks!!!

Course Registration - Shitty day

This is another time of the trimester where everyone have to fight for limited bandwidth, limited seats in suitable classes. Hm...can't get to add any courses yet at press time. Wonder when can i get packed up and drive all the way up to KL. Very tired now, haven't got enough sleep the night before and have to climb up of bed early in the morning (8am considered early).

Later tonight will be a bday party of Vivien Lim. Purposely goin there for her big day. Taking Chang Way, Wan Choon and Yi Chen. Yeah, goin early so those shopaholics can go and grab some goodies while waiting for the party at night. Since i'm not really into shopping, i guess i'll juz for them in one corner, taking candid shots of leng luis.

Oh yeah, i got a new housemate already. Not sure if it's good news or bad. He moved in on the 1st of the month. But like the other housemates, he's not a fast starter. But from what i see, he ain't planning to mix around with the rest of the people. Anyway, i'm not looking for a friendly housemate or wut. Juz hope that he pays up his rentals on time. As well as the other bills that comes with it. He's like juz use the room for bed and bath. Most of the time he'll be out. Not sure wut places are so fun in Melacca, yet he might just be busy with his FYP. Well, we'll have a look at him in a month or two.

Wut have I been doin online?

Besides the normal checking thru blogs. I did check out the forwarded links that friends through instant messangers. Well here are a few of the more recent links that i've been visiting. The other day when i was out having ice with my friends, they were reading this article about a Taiwan supermodel: 林志玲. Wakao!!! Her whole body can be "sold" for thousands.

From what i've remember, her hands (watch commercial), body(modeling, slimming center), legs (jeans commercial), even her ears are worth money (handphone commercial). According to those rumour magazines, she has taken over 萧蔷's position as taiwan's #1 beauty. There are quite limited photos online, but here's one of the link that gives me quite big prints. Too bad the loading is slow. I wonder why chinese websites are usually slower to load, issit because the traffic in taiwan is huge, or issit because they can't afford a bigger bandwidth. Even those frequently visited pornographic sites seldom have that much traffic. Wut's the problem wif mandrin sites?

Panasonic D-Snap have been to our shores for quite some time dy. Here's a commercial made for the Japanese market. But dun know which prankster came wif a Banasonic C-Snap with chicken drumstick to replace the slim digicam.

Not sure how many bathroom singers friends are out there. But this one let's you sing along with the midi while displaying the lyrics. [ Jay Chou - 七里香 ]. Here's one hokkien version of Puff Daddy & Faith Evans with lyrics as well ["烙賽在褲底"]. And who say computer games are only for guys, i see these are a few that girls might be interested in [ Orisinal: Morning Sunshine ]

Did this test on MindMedia few days ago. I've long since know that i'm better in science compared to art. Meaning that i've been using my right brain more compared to my left brain. This test proves the same fact, you can try it out.

Happy Birthday to Irene

Yup, it's time again to celebrate her birthday. Not sure wut to buy for her, so I decided to get her a Squash Racket for her birthday. Squash Racket ar? how to wrap? Hm...that's wut Vivien was asking me when she met me in Jaya Jusco yesterday. Well, such an odd looking shape thing, no matter how i wrap, it'll still not look nice. So I came up with the plan to wrap the squash racket up around the campus ground.

Mana tau that girl came over and sleep last night and spent almost whole morning at my place. Dun give me any spare time to think about where to hide the huge present i got for her. Anyway, luckily my tutorial class ends early, and i took the spare time to come up wif a series of riddles. She have read DaVinci Code already, so it shouldn't be much of a problem for her to find the clues.

Yvonne, her classmate was with her when i met Irene for lunch. She almost caught me placing the clues when I was coming down from Plaza Siswa. Luckily she was still blur blur like that. Well, Irene was suppose to go Yvonne's place to wait for the 4pm class. But once she say the game, she quickly ask if she can join. Well, just let both of the girls have the fun running around campus lor.

So here are the clues to share with you. It's done within an hour, so the quality won't be as good as those i spend nights working on. The 1st clue leads to the 2nd and so on. I planned the journey to be around an hour max two. Hm...to my luck, the estimation is just nice before she got bored and the initial purpose of the game will be spoilt.

Clue #1
This is where u play your sports,
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, that's what I thought;
Being there you'll find a clue,
To the present I brought only for you.

Clue #2
Piles of knowledge stored in here,
Also a place to meet our peers;
In the red spot you'll continue your way
the festivals, food & fashion is where it lays.
The romantic city you always wanted to be
"For our honeymoon", you said to me.

Clue #3
A place to eat we call canteen,
That was way back when we are teens;
Food is not food as diners are not diners,
Book are flipped and turn by data miners;
It'll be flooded only late at night,
when oil lamps are burning until the first light.
There are dozen of tables & chairs,
Do check everyone located over there.

Clue #4
Thou shall not find the Grail,
As the Grail finds you he will,
The story ends here at where it starts
Come to think of it you an it never parts.
Hidden inside the buttocks of my girlfriend,
The ass so wide it fits two men.

The clues are simple but juz that I placed the Clue #3 at the wrong book. She wants to go Venice but i placed the clue in Paris how careless of me. Haha...but things got back into path as she was looking under each and every table in the Old Canteen. The people studying there was wondering what those two girls are doing, and they said they are looking for a present. By the time they leave the Old Canteen, everyone was greeting her Happy Birthday. Irene, surprise of the century huh? Hehe...

Wedding Dinner in KL

Juz came back from Kuala Lumpur to meet my parents. Not goin back during the Hari Raya break, so that's the only time i gotta meet my family. Too bad Shan Qi was having her STPM soon. So she can't come this time. Got to meet grandma (mom's side) as well. She's growing quite old now, have to talk wif a stick. But she's still very energetic and conscious compared to her younger sister who lives in KL.

I've actually an assignment due today, yet i still decided to rush up to KL to meet them yesterday morning and take the earliest bus back to Melaka. Was staying in a Nova Hotel off Jalan Bukit Bintang. Everything is quite convinient over there - The Golden Triangle. But the trip was not a total loss lah, since the dinner is in Plaza Low Yat, i got to get myself a CF card.

This trip shocked me a little as my aunty came with her youngest daughter, Ying. For some insights, Ying is the kinda girl that will bring 15 pairs of panties on a 5 day trip to Melaka from Penang. ( dun u think it's super weird for girls to do that?). Since their family is always afraid of the "danger" of the outside world, they haven't been to KL before. Bring them to Times Square and have a look and take some pictures for them. Well, i guess she must have a lot to talk about when she goes back to meet her elder sister Yuan.

Oh yeah, the bride is quite beautiful that night. Though she's my distant relative, i can't recall anytime that i've meet her b4. So does tables and tables of "relatives" i have in KL. Just remember a few only as they are like 2 generations ago. Haven't downloaded the pictures to my computer yet...so don't know how it'll end up. Uploading it later lah when i have time. So tired...woke up at around 6 in the morning and have to rush back for assignment later. Aih~still got a lab in the afternoon....tired tired..

**updated**: here is a link to the photos i've taken. Wedding dinner in KL.
