UCSI: Wushu Integration Day

It finally rainned last night. Something to be talking about i suppose. It's been dry and hot for a long time, and like what irene says, it's the cloud snapping pictures at us, showing how God cares about us, wonder how much more tears God needs to shread for our betterman.

Woke up at six and meet at the campus to catch an early bus to University College Sedaya International (UCSI), Cheras. I wasn't actually interested in the Integration Day activities, but to look at prices in LowYatPlaza. Juz take advantage of the trip to save up my travelling expanses. Have been doin some research about that area before going, just in case I get lost.

Turns out that UCSI is a new building with still a lot of unfinished lab and tutorial rooms. Even the lift is not functioning yet. But wut i like about the place is that their main hall, located in the fourth floor, is huge, covered with glass window, and is fully air-conditioned. There's even a gym on the fifth floor looking down to the main hall. As i can't wait for the event to start, i made a walk down to the streets to find the nearest LRT station.

End up took a taxi to Tasik Selatan station, which cost me only RM2.90. Cheaper then taking a taxi from Jaya Jusco back to Bukit Beruang. Those cheaters...they should implement metered taxis in Melaka soon. Can't just let those taxi drivers over charge right? Took another few minutes transit to reach Imbi station. Juz walked around from there lor~Pudu -> Berjaya Times Square -> Sg.Wang.

Tried to called Shiau Fei out for lunch, but too bad she's having an exam today. Good luck to you ya~! Anyway...tried to called YiShu jie jie next. What a coincidence that she's on her way to Low Yat Plaza as well to get some computer peripherals. So we agreed to meet there at 30 minutes time. I tot of walking around Sg.Wang Plaza for a while, mana tau end up lost inside the shopping center. What kinda bad sense of direction i have....

Haha...anyway, managed to meet her there in around 40 minutes later. I don't have much time to shop around as she came with her parents. I actually don't have much to shop around considering my tight budget. Only bought a card reader which costs me RM38. Found Transcend 1GB Compact Flash going for RM 330, but thinking twice weither to get it or not just yet. Cause i'm not urgently in need of it just yet. Go try out Archos Gmini as well, but it's too expensive for me just yet (RM2,200).

Luckily YiShu Jie is staying in Cheras area as well. So ask her to fetch me back lor, as i'm not planning to stay in that shopping complex for long. Have KFC with her and her parents near UCSI. I would like to say, her dad is really funny, have been talking jokes and silly silly stuffs all the way. It comes so natural to him, it's not like he forces those jokes out at all.

Back to UCSI, the performance are just...normal lah. Can't rate it too highly as it's just performance based event, and not a competition like the one held in MMU, Melaka few weeks back. One of the MC is quite cute, other then that, there's only a few other gals that caught the eyes of single guys out there. Photos won't be up that soon as i'll be having tonnes of assingment coming up.

Finished quite early and go straight back to Melaka. Stopped by KFC again, ARGH!!! decided not to eat there, just buy some mashed potatoes for Irene. Have to cover Talentime organised by SPARCS at night, details on the event will be posted later. Took around 500 pictures itself today since it's a packed day

Trinite: Bad luck doesn't come alone

Irene's only fault for the night is to ask me go there at 6.30pm. Luckily i managed to attend 30 minutes of Jonas class before fetching Hooi Mun, Guan and Yvonne to Equitorial. When i arrived, no one is allowed to go in yet. I'm not sure what's wrong with those people. Even the VIPs are already there and waiting.

After 2 full hours of waiting only the show starts. And there's a series of catwalks before we can feast. 10pm only makan dinner. WTF!!! I've already told Irene earlier that these nuisance can't be punctual, and not worth paying for the tickets, but...aih~wutever, it's not her to blame.

Before i talk about food, i was being seated at table 14 earlier. Then that Wendy Sia says, "Neoh, u're moving to another table later right? This is IT SOCIETY table." Dang! i'm already in such a bad mood and u're asking me to move? I told wan choon let's go and find somewhere else to sit and i'm sure that gal knows that it's not right for her to shoo me away.

Talking about food, it's also not enough even after refills. I can't wait for the dishes as the que goes on forever. So, i just sapu all the cakes and fruits on my first round. Only after the crowd fades that i manage to get myself some fried rice and veggie. After taking a few bites oso being taken away by the waiter dy~ KNS~!!!

Lightings oso bad, then its KISHZ again. Yawn~he's good...but stereotype. But if it's not for him, there's totally nothing all night long. Fortunately Josh, Chyoli, Ming Zheng and Wendy is there to cheer me up. Not forgetting Irene as well.

Bad luck doesn't come alone. Irene's already very tired and about to vomit. She can't even come down from the car when I reached her house. Then i go to the back seat to comfort her. Mana tau there's 3 police motorcycles coming and flashing the torchlight on us. !@#$%, can't they just go away? Damn it, they just trying to find fault with me. Serves them right they they get enough scolding from me. I've already had a bad day, and these people try to tell me that it is "kelakuan luar biasa" that i comfort my own girlfriend ??!!

They only ran away when Irene starts to cry out loud. These people...really needs to be taught a lesson. Got crimes don't want to solve, come and disturb a ill, tired couple. Sorry Yi Ling, hopefully it'll rain soon and flush away all my bad luck.

Bad mood

My mood is still bad, issit me to blame, or is it the weather? Why issit so hot in the room? It's even hotter out there. Things i wanna do just don't go smoothly. Even printing notes, print halfway oso no ink. Then there's this fire in Bukit Beruang some more. Here's the report.Aih~

Suppose to be happy since tonight my Irene is going to be modelling in front of a crowd of around 400 people. And it's also her last prom as she's going to graduate in April. It's not because i'm not being nominated Prom King or what, the nominations doesn't concern me much actually.

I should be happy because a lot of my friends are there, and celebrating together. Maybe cause i don't like celebration, or i can't decide if i'm going to buy a photo printer now or otherwise. Saving money for Digital Rebel XT. But i don't have a savings account, how?

Always comes second

Am i that bad, or am i not good enough? Juz managed to get second place twice in both Battle #17 Transportation and Battle #18 Chinese New Year. I guess i've to polish up my skills more, the recent Battle is Battle #19 Opposites. I don't have any photos on that particular subject. It's quite hard to get a decent photo that i can take and compete.

I've a few ideas in mind, but it's like kinda hard to find the specific place to capture those scenes. To me, Opposites put more emphasis on Still Life and People, going to Jonker tonight. Hopefully can get to capture a few photos for evaluation.

Why am i so unlucky huh? Spent RM120 in less then 1 hour. RM80 on sunglasses (luckily Irene prefer this one then the one i lost), then RM12 on two pieces of 8R developing, RM27 for 2 pieces of GP1800NiMH (lost 2 GP2000NiMH, don't know where i left it), and RM1 on the parking. Aih~replacing old stuff with new is something to be happy about, but replacing lost stuff is another issue.

Then after my discussion in the library, found that my car is locked by the !@#$% school security. Scold those people cukup-cukup before they open the chain for me. They issue me a summon, which i couldn't be bothered to pay. Why should i pay if i don't even think it's wrong? Their motorbikes can be simply parked wherever they want, wherelse mine can't even park at a proper parking lot? WTF!!!

Terrible mood, really terrible mood. But hope my new sunshades can cheer me up a little. Happy Chap Goh Meh everyone.

Ryan Cabrera

Another young talent, Ryan Cabrera. I'm kinda lazy to search for his biodata, i'm only interested in his single, True. I know it's unethical, but if you want to test listen his song, you can download it from Baidu [Ryan Cabrera True Sampler]. Which i find it quite fast in terms of download speed. Enjoy the song

EXIF for Heaven on Earth 2003

I was amazed by this picture ever since i received the forward two years ago. Tried various places before, yet never found this specific place. Anyway, quite happy that after comparing my picture with this one, mine is still acceptable, other then over looking the flats which block a bit of the view.

For those photographers out there, EXIF data are really important. Well, this site gives you more then that, it provide u with the specific place where you can capture the picture. Penangites, you can try it the nxt year. Or at least, before Chap Goh Meh. Too bad i can't go back and try. Got classes to attend.

Here's another picture for you to guess...what is the picture all about???

Anyway~i'm kinda disapointed that Photographic Society, Penang (PSP) haven't been updating their site for such a long time. Maybe they should offer courses or ask their webmasters to do something like The Photographic Society of Singapore which even offer courses on "Glamour and Nude Photography". I got to know that we can try out shooting nude models in Bangkok as well(for a fee of cos). But, i don't think that's my cup of tea. I'll rather shoot animals, which are already nude in nature, and they don't give me a slap.

Canon EOS 350D/Digital Rebel XT

Finally, something in between EOS 300D (RM3600) and EOS20D (RM6000) that is at the price of the cheaper model, and packed with quite a number of features in the more expensive model. Canon did really put a lot of new features in this giant. Really eager to see it coming into our shores. Here's a link on DPREVIEW which gives a rough preview on this camera.

Thanks to Photo Marketing Association Annual Show (PMA 2005) held in Orlando, we're able to see a whole list of new cameras coming out. Too bad I'ven't get my own income yet...if not, i'll be in Orlando, Florida by now. I've looked through their itenary, it's really very interesting that the whole week (20th ~23rd February).

Coming back to the camera, I do really hope that the price here would be around RM3600 like the price listed on US. Yeah~finally an affordable dSLR with 8.0MP which i can dream of. Buying...that'll depends on a lotta factors

Tham Wai Yeng

"Mr. Neoh Soon Hueng, you still remember me? Last time u always bully me one", say Tham. I was like..."huh? Who's this gal anyway?" Totally no idea how many peers i've been bullying throughout the years. After she introduce herself only i realised she's someone i nicked as "Geng Geng" as in a kinda prune or dates when we were in Primary. Went to the same tuition right opposite my babysitter's house.

It was Kahhung that brings her and another gal call Xe Hui out. Thanks to Kahhung, she can always manage to ask my friends out which i can't even get in contact with. Thanks to her wide contact. I was suppose to have supper with her and Ling Seang the night before, but too bad it's kinda late and i've to wake up early in the morning to get some shots in Botanical Gardens. Sorry Ling Seang!!!

Me and Irene went to Botanical Gardens before meeting kahhung with the rest of them in Lam MeiSze's house. Her mom was downstairs and she gave us angpows as well. So paiseh that i forgot to bring tangerines there. MeiSze was my dad's partner's daughter, but we can't see eye to eye...though we're borned in the same year. Can't remember why we start argueing oso... She was still half sleeping when we were out having breakfast at Pulau Tikus market.

All in all... I find it a great gift meeting back another of my old friend in Primary. I only managed to keep in contact with only a handful of them. Too bad forgotten to get Wai Yeng's contact...those who have it, please let me know.

Gong Xi Fa Cai

Happy Cny to everyone...it's been such a tiring day. Woke up at 6am in the morning trying to get a nice shot of Kek Lok Si...Mana tau those fellas wanna save money, and switch of the lights before i even got there. Shit!!!

Since i was there, i might as well get something into my stomach. Luckily the hawker center on the corner was open. Took a quick bite and drove back to Sungai Ara, where I've just moved in. Nice place there...might share some pictures i took when i get back to Melaka. Cause we don't have a phone line still.

Luckily i don't have to drive to visit the relatives today as the "leader" just got married end of last year. Dad's driving most of the places. Managed to visit the Tsunami site in Tanjung Tokong when i was in Big Aunt's house. I can say, the government did a great job repairing the site. I love the laksa there as well...took a few shots on a cute little dog as well.

Can't say much about the other houses, as it's kinda "routine" every year visiting all those places. Just that this year i have a camera in hand to keep me occupied. So tired i slept straight after reaching home without even entertaining the relatives that came to visit...really feel sorry bout that.

Quite happy receiving all those angpows eventhough I'm already old enough to be giving them out. Well, u small little nephew and nieces...u'll have to wait till i earn some money lah k~hehe...

Signing off,
Nesohu

Missing Home

Start missing home dy for the past couple of days. Not because of those food, or those angpow that i'm goin to get. But all those photographic opportunity that i'm going to grab once i'm back there. CNY...my 1st Chinese New Year with a camera in my hand....wow!!! I'll be photographing non-stop for the whole 10 days.

While i wanna take a nap, i'll think of how nice Kek Lok Si would look like in the evening, then i jump up again...to burn all those data in my Laptop so that i can have more space to keep all the CNY pictures that i'll be taking. I'm estimating maybe 10 CDs full of photograph before filtering. What am i gonna do? All i'm worried of is to do "spring cleaning" and moving the furniture around for the CNY.

Penang, i'll be back in a couple of days!!!
