Thanks Mom

I'm really happy that finally communication really goes through in between me and my family. Told them that I was going back on wednesday, then coming back melaka again on friday. They were all worried for me, that can be understood as the road is describied as a mouth of a tiger. Then this lil sister of me, hm...don't really know if she's trying to help or simply making things worse.

Anyway, the situation become more tense after about half an hour. When i get tensed, i'll tend to twist my sentences more. For those people who knew me, they should've seen me tongue twist especially if some "officials" block me from getting what I want. At one point, I even ask them why issit considered OUR home when they can't trust me to make sure the gates are locked.

After I stop talking with Qi, Mom called me. I tot she's about to cry or start to talk some sense into me. But I'm really surprised that she actually talk nicely with me, and listens to what I have to say. Mommy loves me the most in the family, she has been checking my workbook since kindergarden. Sit with me to make sure i finish all the Ladybird series before I go to kindergarden. And she also makes sure I learn my Division well during my Primary school days. Now, my caring mummy stand out for me again. Thanks mom, I Love U! Happy Mother's Day!

More things to offer

Well, i've decided to rent out some of my precious possessions to get some extra money to fund my obsession to photography. These offer will be valid in Melaka until futher notice.

  • Honda City 1.5l for rent: RM60/day
  • Nikon D70s digital camera with a couple of lens and flash. RM 50 on weekdays (collect on monday, return on friday) , and RM50 on weekends (collect on friday evening, and return on sunday evening).

Well, I think such offers are worth considering. Let me know if you're interested.

Low in cash

I'm rather low in cash now, so i decided so sell out some of the things that I've been saving for quite some time.... Neopoints (NP). Well, for those of you who are playing neopets, here's your chance to get 10,000 NP for only RM10. But if you get 100,000 NP from me now, you'll only need to pay RM 50. Hurry hurry...this is a good chance to buy a lot of things for ur pets.

Reason is, I'll need to fund for my new gears. So if you appreciate the photos I take, I'm going to sell digital prints for low price as well. Email me to get a quotation.

Finally

Finally, finished the draft copy of my thesis, which turns out to be an almost final copy. There's nothing much I can do now other than pray hard that I can get over it. So, after submitting it this morning, went out to took some pictures to relax myself. Now, after trying out RawShooter Premium 2006, tired and exhausted, but I prefer this software compared to Adobe CameraRAW 3.3. No time to do a review, you people have to try it out yourself.

As for now, it's time for bed. No tutorials this afternoon. Good, now I can catch up with my tutorial and other assignments.

Pride without Prize

Managed to get my photo on a full page spread on Digital Camera Magazine (Malaysian Edition). To some this is a huge archievement, but to me, I feel slightly disapointed. It's my fault not reading the rules properly and I've been waiting for the the past 50+ days to get this image published and I was aspecting to get myself a new Tamrac camera bag. Turn outs only the photographer of the month gets such a luxury.

Anyway, for those of you who are curious on which photo I took was publish, or am I just boasting/fooling aroung, you can check out your local news stand to grab a copy. There was always some problem with the printers, I've just bought my copy from Popular today after the photo shooting at the church.

Irmaoes de Igreja

Good Friday to all of you who celebrate this holy day. Here's a photo taken just hours ago at the Irmaoes de Igreja (Brothers of the Church in Cristao) which has been serving the Portuguese-Eurasian community since 1587. Click on the photo to enlarge.

It was raining cats and dogs all afternoon and the crowd start to get themselves into the church as early as 6.30pm. Instead of getting into the church and celebrate with the crowd, I choose an alternative location high up at an Aeon building to witness the whole event. There were two other reporters with me, let's just see how my photos are compared to their's.

Here's another photo that I'm satisfied with. Out of the 2 hours I'm there, I only managed to get approximately 20~30 pictures. Out of those, only about 5 is of acceptable quality. I only have time to work on 2 photos now, after I've submit my FYP thesis, maybe I can show you a little more.

By the time I left, I ended up having to climb over a 6 foot gate to get myself out of the building since the place is locked and the security guards are no where to be seen. But overall, i'm quite happy with the photo shooting. But it could be better if I know how to edit the photos. For those of you interested in the annual ritual, you can read the article by Percy D'Cruz on TheStar Metro Friday 14th April 2006

Qi, you're the sweetest thing

I've never received real support (at least i can't feel that) as I hardly see my parents sitting there and give me moral support whenever I'm doing something infront of the public. Maybe I'm just not that good enough for them to be proud of.

This morning I was thinking about either to ask them for my convocation or just sell those 2 seats to the highest bidder to other people who have a larger family. Hence I have a small chat with my younger sister, this is what she replied

Hueng: would u come for my convocation? or u think no need 1?
Qi : (sure) i will be very gan3 dong4 if u have ur convo
Qi : u wont cry off...i would
Hueng: i tot our family, this kinda thing not important 1
Qi : becoz ppl like mummy seems to not satisfy with wat u have achieved
Qi : but if u can graduate with a degree even with the lowest u can get, i am very
proud of having u as my bro

How sweet~ Thanks Qi.

Smallville flaw (again)

Hm...just wanna point out some flaw i saw on Smallville S05E17. Did anyone notice that Lana Lang (Kristine) swap the magnetic strip card on the wrong side, yet the door opens? Or it's just me?

Girl Friends

Just finish chatting with Kahhung over the web only to realised I don't have any guy friends kept from my secondary school years. Since when was the last time a guy actually buzz me to talk? Well, there's still a handful of them namely Bernard & his brother, Uzyn Chua and Lincoln Leong. I don't know what happen to all the rest of them dy.

These group of girls I get to know are really very friendly: kahhung, yiling & suwei. I do still keep in touch with Chia Fong and Phaik Kuan occasionally. And I do still talk with YiShu and Shiau Fei occasionally through the web and over the phone.

But I do hope that all those friends I have in MMU will still keep in touch with me after I've graduated. Your friendship means a lot to me.

Worst Week Ever !!!

Monday morning go to visit the doctor as I wanted to get a remedy to heal my terrible sore throat. But on Tuesday morning, I ended up going back to the clinic to ask for cough mixture. I've been hiding myself under the blanket for the entire week and merely write anything for my thesis that's going to due on 17th this month.

Irene tells me that it's all illusional. The more I hide, the more afraid I am when I wake up. I almost have the thought of cutting myself into pieces or give up on everything. This is the most critical time for me, if I don't get through this semester, means that I'll have to waste another year facing the same topic, and all the people around me will be so young.

There are tonnes of other problems that pops up when I was trying to sleep last night. If I were to flunk, my parents will be very dissapointed, and no matter how much effort my dad put in getting me a job, I'll have to turn it down as I can't graduate.

God, I don't even think I learn anything benificial electronically over my 4 long years of degree course. But I did take up a lot of other skills namely, html, vbscript, photoshop, and other soft skills. Shit, as if those are of any use at all. Unless there's a TV show where ppl would prompt me some misc question on Photoshop that I have to answer without even turning the software on.

Dun worry, I won't be killing myself yet. Most probably will be spending more money over the phone crying to my parents and talking with Irene. She's the toughest girls I know, u won't even know when she's sick and working. She'll be my motivation to finish my thesis, my course, and get out of this suffering student life for good.

FootNote: Thanks also to Elsie Jie for comforting me over Y! Messanger. Thanks for Papi & Mami for listening to me nagging. You people really help a lot.

Happy Birthday to Me

I can opt to celebrate with a many lot people, but I’ve decided to spend all my time with this special girl. She forgives me for all my mistakes, she doesn’t mind me being academically challenged, and she loves me for who I am.

Thanks to all my friends who are there to celebrate my birthday for me. Marimo, Corn, Bun, Josh, Chyoli, ChangWah, DingWen, Justin, Bryant, HoayLing, YeeJen, JyhYian, Seow Boon, and a few more I can’t link your face to ur names (my bad). Then there’s greetings from ThienSiew, Cirnelle, TeckLoong, Florence, Sue Yee,WendyCheong, and SuokYee... Really appreciate them remembering my birthday. Got a voice message from Shiau Fei as well as a call from Lincoln Leong, these friends have been with me during alpha, but never fail to keep in touch even after they left Melaka after their foundation studies.

We spend the morning finishing the first season of Beauty and the Geek, then later I drove her up to KLIA. We meet up with a crazy jam. Luckily we managed to reach the airport on time. The place is really huge, but I really pity the government for building such huge airport with only a handful of people wondering around. I don’t think the airport authorities can get back their investments with merely the airport tax.

It’s hard to see her entering the departure hall, but that’s life. Quality time is too short as we only see each other for less than 40 hours before we have to part again. Thanks for the birthday present you gave me, love the nails you keep.

Oh yeah, like to mention about the world cup commemorative coin that I’ve asked Cirnelle to buy me, she insists to give me as a birthday gift. Thanks a lot darlin~ And I've just received a delivery from Shiau Fei, it's a promotional CD from SonyBMG. Thanks fei~

Lastly I'll like to thank dad and mom for giving me a call. It's good to hear sound from home when you're far away from home.

April Fool’s Day

What I’ve done over the weekend? Irene came down as early as 5am. Was planning to go up Genting Highlands for the weekend as I can’t think of anywhere worth traveling to in Melaka town. But since she’s not feeling well, we cancel the plan. Drove up to KL instead to find my MATLAB textbook, I need to use it in my projects.

We spent a day at Midvalley Megamall. I haven’t been there for quite some time, Missed my way but thanks to YiShu for the directions (she’s really good at it), we managed to reach the place. Found the textbook that I’m looking for after searching up and down in Melaka for the past few weeks (finally!!!). Then we go and look at the dogs at Pet World. Wander around that area until about dinner time when we saw this foreigner selling ice-cream. The way he did it was unique; the ice-cream was so well blend that it have a feeling of all sticking together. We were fooled by the guy as he flipped the cone downwards as if it’s going to fall. Haha…funny guy.

Took our dinner at Manhattan Fish Market, the food is nice, but I always make the mistake of adding too much garlic into my food. Garlic happens to turns my stomach upside down. We were both satisfied with the meal, but I would prefer to go TGI Friday.

We both were exhausted when we reach back Melaka. I open a bottle of wine that I’ve reserved for this special day, and we enjoy it while watching a few episodes of Beauty and The Geek.
