Back in Penang

Yeah, that's right. Despite me getting my car into a drain, got my shoulders injured while lifting it back up, and drying up my car in the middle of the night... I still managed to finish packing my stuffs, and drove back to Penang alone.

You must think I'm crazy. But that's inherited from my dad. He decided to came down and help me pack my stuffs, which is a good news, since i get to meet them again, especially my sister who is studying in KL. Qi came down and help me pack while my parents took a rest in my room. She havta forfeit the bus ticket that she bought earlier to go to KL just to come and visit me, how sweet...

If not for them, I don't think i can fit everything in my car. Even after filling up my dad's car boot, I barely able to sqeeze all my stuffs into my Honda City. With lack of sleep, a running nose and the fear I had the night before, managed to drive all the way back to Penang in one piece. They were following me from the back as they en route KL to leave my sis there. So it's quite a safe distance ( 30 minutes gap) to make sure that they can help me up if smth happens to my car on the way.

Now that I'm back, I'll have to worry where to put all my stuffs. :( Might need to get some cupboards from IKEA this weekend. Who asks me to keep so much junks...

Jobless guy waiting for fate

Reporter :"What is your feeling after finishing your last examination paper? and that you're graduating soon."

Dissapointment, hopeless, restless, angry and almost feel like the world is coming to an end for me. Even if i visit the Penang Bridge or the KLCC, I don't think the newspapers will even be interested. My parents don't want me, at least that's what they sound like when they don't put an effort in coming down to visit me and help me move my things back to Penang. My gf is dissapointed with me when she hear that I did not do good in my last paper. Not even a comforting word from her this time. Two of my most important reasons to get back to Penang - G.O.N.E.

I'll usually be packing up my stuffs after my finals. But not sure if I'll do the same this time. Don't have the mood to do anything. Even when they were taking a group photo of all the graduates, I just try to force up a smile. Not sure if I can make it to the BBQ tonight, even if I can, i don't think i can socialize.

Now, should I start looking for a job? pray for a pass? or forget everything and just take photos until everything's ok?

Melaccan drivers: JDC 7277 and MAQ 662

Waking up early this morning to give my friend a ride to Melaka Sentral. On my way out, I offered 2 of my housemates to tag along as they are having exams. Good deeds don’t come with good returns.

When I was coming out from Taman Kerjasama, at the Petronas junction, I checked that the on coming traffic is clear before I move out, but then I noticed a small kancil coming out so I’ve to try avoid the car and move slightly outwards. Eventually I managed to get to match this guy’s name to the car number plate MAQ 662. This Melaccan by the name of Jin Wang with handphone number 0126066422 is really a reckless driver. You better go and pray that I don’t take action on you.

End up a huge Mercedes came knocking me. First I was asking how that lady in the Mercedes wants to settle the issue. But she insisted that I’m wrong and ask for my IC. This old ugly horrible lady with a stupid hokkien ascent drives a Mercedes with car number plate JDC 7277. If you find her car parking anywhere, better park far away. You’ll never know what a reckless old lady like her will excuse you about when she knocked your care.

So, file a police report, visited 4 police stations, and have to pay about RM300 for the repair cost…and that’s what I’ve gotten into for being a kind young man. After report I went to the investigation officer to explain my story. Before I got into Sarjan Shodikin’s room, I can already smell the smoke coming out from it. The police station has a lot of “non-smoking” signs all over, but this Sarjan is smoking away like nobody’s business. That’s Malaysian culture I guess…nobody gives a shit about you. We have to be selfish at times, see what I got into when I’m being kind.

Not just that. Since I can’t park inside the police station, I’ve to park at the outside car park which needs to use an impractical coupon system. I don’t go out that frequent, where do I find the need of getting those? End up? Have to come out with more money.

Petrol cost: RM 2
File Report: RM 4
Summons: (RM 300 estimate)
Repairs: RM 300 estimate
MPMBB: RM 15 (after discount)
Telephone bills: RM 20

Other people have either finished their exams or studying hard for their remaining paper. And see what I’ve get into in this Black Friday? Maybe Irene’s senses do mean something. Just checked my mail….my interview 2 weeks ago was a failure. And I’ve forgot to attached a file that I’ve sent to Bazuki last night.

What a day!

Salvation is here

Can't seemed to connect to the internet once Hyuei went to Penang for an interview. It's been a tough weekend for me as I've nothing else that I can do other than to do my study. It's less than 10 days now to my final exams you see...

I think electronics might have intimate relationship with it's owners. This is especially true with older electronic gadgets, as they tend to malfunction, only their owners would know how to repair/use them.

I'm kinda worried as I haven't printed out my exam slip. That's the last one I hope, then it'll be graduation. Good luck mina-san

Electronic Image Stabilizers

I believe this technology will be the future in compact digital cameras. How I wish I knew about this issue 12 months ago, then I can do a thesis out of this study. We've all learn about how powerful DSP (digital signal processing) really is as an elective in our undergraduate degree, but the real details like these are not touched.

I happen to notice quite a lot of new cameras from Casio Exlim line highlighting their "Anti-Shake DSP technology" which gets me excited to Google something. But all came back with "product" result instead of the technology behind. Then I tried to look for "Electronic Image Stabilizers" (EIS) which gives me quite some results.

Eventhough EIS won't be as good as OIS (optical), but I believe that the industry will be moving into coming out with more EIS cameras to complement the smaller, compact size the consumers wants. Since I'm interested in DSP, maybe I would be able to work for some handphone companies which does built-in camera modules. That'll be interesting to have a patent under my name don't ya think?

My First Interview

Quite an interesting day today. Woke up early to prepare some copies of my resume for the interview. But after scrolling around the whole Bayan Lepas area, I can't seemed to find any photostat shop. I don't understand why these place can have shopping malls, high rise apartments and all, yet not a single photostat service available. Hm...the nearest one i can think of is in USM area. But that's like 15 minutes drive from my house.

Anyway, I also spend some time to fill up the form in a staffing agency, as well as look for the factories which I'm going to have my interview in. Bayan Lepas industrial zone is quite a huge piece of land. I only know the location of a few factories near Seagate where I was having my training. Was scrolling around until I met a police station in an isolated place end of the road. Went inside to have a look at the map, and after some mind mapping, I managed to find the places I've been looking for. I really hope that the Penang Development Council can put an accurate map of this industrial zone online. It'll really help people who're asking for directions. GPS can come latter.

As for my afternoon interview, I'm quite dissapointed with myself as I've forgotten some of the most basic questions. Luckily the interviewer is kind enough to entertain me for the 30 minutes. I do hope he doesn't think that I'm wasting his precious time talking with me. Since he's so generous, I took the effort to read up after the interview, and wrote a reply to him. He's quite prompt in replying the mail. I really hope that I can work with him as he's really taking engineering seriously.

I love to quote this from his mail,"Engineering is an art whereby you need to understand the theory rather than memorize the theory."

Travel Blog?

Received a call from an anoynomous caller asking me about the accomodation in Cameron Highlands. It seems like my blog does have some readers (yay~!). Maybe not as plentiful, but at least the accuracy of my posts can be trusted. Used to think that no one else other than my friends visit me, but seems like Google does quite a good job linking people to my blog.

Maybe I can start writing a travel log...it might be a best seller one day. Who knows? With my proficiency in english and photography, there's a lot of things I can archieve, if i can reduce my entertainment time.

Bicycle Sold

...to a nice gentleman who urgently needs a means of transportation to get to his girlfriends house every weekend. I'm sorry he lost his bike, it must have been a good one to you.

Mine came from quite some background. I got it from the days when I stayed in Kulim, Kedah. The bike was used to cycle along the taman where i used to stay during the weekends. It's not fully my bike, as my dad is the one who bought it. I don't like the place there either, hence my dad sold it before buying my current place.

Anyway, after i lost the bike Hyuei sold me, I've been using this current bike. For those of you who knew me, I cycle more than I drive. I love cycling a lot...but now that I'm graduating, I hope that this piece of metal will serve it's new owner well.

I've still got some furnitures to sell. For those who are interested, can contact me. I don't sell expensive, just need a small amount to show you appreciate the goods. They are all still looking new.

Interviews/ Holiday

Yay~ on my way back to Penang later. Might drop by KL for a spin before going back. Wanna go take a look at the lens that i've been dreaming off for the past few months. Hopefully it's available at reasonable price.

Shit part is, I got up late (10am) and i've 4 miss calls on my phone since I charged it over night. But luckily the HR is quite polite as she allows me to get an interview at 2pm in the afternoon tomorrow. I'll go up Kelly Services to fill up my form as well. Other than that, i'll be attending another Process Engineering position in the same industrial zone.

Hopefully I can get myself a job and stop worrying about my future dy. Guys, wish me luck.

Stomach Full of butterflies

Was having a stomach full of butterflies since last night as I'm too nervous about my final year project presentation this afternoon. Mine's the last session, but I was quite prepared dy in the morning. Dunno what to do after that. I'll feel guilty if I don't study, yet i don't know what else I can prepare.

Last night, Mint mui came up with one of her assignments for help. Quite happily i took it up and help her through some data sorting and analysis. Anyway, get back to my tummy. I complained to Irene about that, and she asks me to shit it out. Hm...yet after shitting my stomach still dun feel well (cause there are cocoons still hiding inside =)) )

5.15pm, Dr Murthy and Mr Chan both came into the Faculty Meeting Room to attend my presentation. Luckily for me this time, Dr Murthy is having a great mood, as compared to my previous presentation (part I). Well, i took the first 15 minutes to present, and the other 15 minutes Murthy asks me about a few simple questions, then he goes to some more doubts he have, which i can hardly solve :P . At least better than last time, as I can managed quite some questions.

Ok, now that my presentation is over, there's nothing more i can do. It's like a huge gigantic stone came down from my shoulders and head. Time for some rest before starting my studies.
