Super GT Weekend

It's been 2 years since my last visit to Sepang. With only 7 days of annual leave left, I never think twice to take a day off for the event of the year - SuperGT 2007. We in Malaysia are fortunate because it's the only track outside Japan that the cars are being racing. Car pool down Sepang with the RojakStudio gang on Friday. Despite knowing these people through the web for like 3 years already, but it's my first time going out on a weekend with them. Nothings changed since my last visit but we are all excited to be there.

We are the biggest group going down from the north for the SuperGT event. In 4 cars, we drove according to the speed limit. Luckily I wasn't in NikonK's BMW, it's really scary seeing him zoom pass us at a speed of 180kmh!!! Once we step our foot in Sepang, we went straight to Sepang International Circuit (SIC) to collect our tickets. As much as we want to take a rest in the hotel, our feet walks straight to into the main grandstand without much thinking. We shot for at least 3 hours of cars from various series before driving to Concorde Inn, which is like 10 minutes from SIC. As there ain't much choices nearby for dinner, we ate in. Don't even think about travelling down to KL as all of us are worried about the traffic.

For the next 2 days, we arrived at the circuit before the place is ready for us and we make good use of our energy, stamina and endurance under the hot sun. Not forgetting that we are carrying all our best camera, lens, flash and other gadgets, knocking over each other to get a better spot and better angle.

You might remember the LoyKartong incident when I killed my RM500 phone while shooting in the sea. It can't be help when taking photographs. Luckily this time my phone not wet in water, dropped, or crash, but yet..

Cost of this trip:
1. Rudoph nose, burnt hands
2. Muscle cram, blisters on feet
3. Broken 52mm UV filter for my Nikkor 50mm f1.8
4. Lost D70s LCD protector
5. Lack of sleep

Getting all those pictures: PRICELESS. For everything else, there's Mastercard.

It's not just me who ran into such a situation. Most of the gang had either smth lost or broken. It's true that we are all tired and worn out by the end of the day but one thing for sure we have the best time of the year.

I'm thankful that my parents wait up for me untill 2am in the morning just to make sure I'm save at home. Sorry to make my mom worried that much. My choobee is also very considerate to let me off for the weekend as she knows how much I blame myself for not being able to join the event last year. You people makes my life worthy.

It's a Monday, most of my friends are on leave today, but I'll still have to punch in as usual. Took 2 panadols at 5.30am and 11.00am. Felt a little dizzy but managed to get back my conscious after lunch break.

Face already better with the cucumbers, but my hands are still burning. Luckily my neck and back was not affected like last time. Still need panadols for the night. Now drinking the Ho Yan Ho tea to cool down my body.

1 year working anniversary

Exactly 1 year ago this day, I step into the doors of a factory in Bayan Lepas. And this is how I celebrate my 1 year anniversary: Running errants all over the factory. And it's not like I have anything great to brag about work.

So, time passes, things happens...but after all that, just feel like I've wasted another year of my life. I was in Gurney Plaza with Irene y'day, and I see there's so many people loitering around the shopping complex like there's nothing better to do. Not just teenagers, people of all ages are walking around with no particular purpose in their brain. Despite a Father's Day weekend, no one could be bothered. They prefer to "hang out" in their favourite arcade or whatever they have in mind.

Everytime I feel like being them, I start feeling guilty. How I wish I can put all my worries away for a while, and start seriously enjoying myself for once. Dream on... dream. Happy anniversary to me

RM200 from FlyFM

I'm so totally happy receiving this cheque. It's been months since I won the "wake up your brain" session in FlyFM. Let me explain how the game goes. Every morning, they will come up with a brain teaser, which will usually be related with factual trivia no one is suppose to be able to find out googling. Everyday they will pick up two lucky callers, which will attempt to answer. If they fail, the money will snowball to the following day with an additional RM100 tops on it.

Despite failing to get through for the larger snowballs, I managed to answer the easy question with Irene's help. "What is the fruit with it's seeds on the outside". Answer is an obvious "Strawberry".

How many of you actually won something over the air? It's not that difficult, as long as you find the time where people are either not yet wake up, or are in a middle of lunch. Give it a try, it's an experience not to be missed

SuperGT promo in Penang

Aki, one of my favourite Japan GT babes is in Penang for a publicity stunt. Love this girl. She doesn't age a bit even after 2 years. That's the benifit of being paid to get cute and act young. How can people age with such good life? Just pose for the camera and sing out some songs.

Didn't take much pictures as I've to balance quite a few tasks over the weekend. But I'm glad I managed to bring home some jackpots.... With Aki is another girl known as Momoyo. She has a great body and she is very friendly and smiles all the time.

When I was getting an autograph from the ladies, Aki asked if she can have one of the photos I took of her. I was reluctant, but promised her to print one for her by end of the month. My face immediately turns tomato red when she hook my last finger to symbolize our little promise. Haha... guys :P

That's a photo of Aki with Momoyo. More photos can be found at my Picasa Web Albums.

Syinni and Leonard's Wedding

This is like the 3rd or 4th among my friends who have get married after graduation. Wonder how these people have the guts to propose and get married at such an early age before stabilized in their career. Have to work harder to gain some savings for my wedding fun now.

Drove all the way up to Alor Setar (1 hour 30 minutes approx). Location quite easy to find. The groom still remembers me by name (despite knowing him for a mere few months 6 whole years ago!). Met back a few other frens namely Zaai Yuan and Franson who I knew living in Emerald Park. Good to meet back these faces... live goes on, but it's happy to know that my friends are successful in their own way.

Talk a bit about this couple lah, if not u ppl oso blur2. I met SyinNi back in my foundation year. She was living opposite my apartment, and I used to have this BB gun which I always shoot across the girls apartment. She's the kindest of them all... always keeping the bullets and giving it back to me, forcing me to promise not to shoot again (which I tend to forget) :P . That's about as simple as our friendship were. Last time there were intercom sessions, and the main communication is still ICQ that was like so ancient. Don't even talk to me about mIRC...which I still uses to ask my Open Source questions. That's about as brief as I can get.

Leonard and Syinni has been together for 6 years, and I wish them many more happy years to come. Best wishes from us in Penang.

OT: Managed to overcome my fear of losing precious images today. Will be attempting Picasa's web albums and blogger's own picture server. Hopefully it doesn't dissapoint me like the services I subscribe to 3 years back.

Canon Virtual Lens Plant

Despite being a Nikonian, I'm impressed by the virtual tour provided by the Canon Japan. Some of you might be thinking, "Why these idiots morgaged their house and divource their wives for photography." It's because they understand and are obsessed with the process of manufacturing, precision, accuracy and perfection of these glasses.

These terms like ED, UD, Florite and Aspherical glasses are things lens makers write on the specifications of their products. The more of these terms the merrier. Click on the link if you're interested in my all time favourite hobby.
