Birthday @ Rasa Sayang

April is a very special month in our family, it's a month of Birthdays. Mine's on the 2nd, Dad's on the 6th and Mom's on the 10th.

To celebrate their birthday, dad took us out to Rasa Sayang, Batu Ferringhi for dinner. He was given a discount card and he suggested that we should go there and indulge in some nice food. As the evening is still early, we took a scroll around the garden and have a few family photos.

You can see here, my parents are full of humor. Getting near their retirement, they are still happy and keeping up quite well.

55-years young, still going strong

Take one

Take two

We spent most of our time busy with our own work, and the last time I remember taking a family photo is during my Convocation 2 years ago! Hm...should we actually come out 2gether more often? Not counting the photo taken during CNY lah, those are like...candid/group shots only.

After hunting around a few restaurants, we decided to dine at the Spice Garden Cafe. On Saturdays, they are having Seafood Buffet. The place is full with people and there are endless variety of delicacies to choose from. There are Lobster, fresh oyster, fresh mussel, fresh tuna, salmon and eel, crab, blue cheese, lamb satay, abalone, jelly fish, octopus, scallop, fish roe, sushi, apricot custard, chocolate dessert and of coz, some tomato juice with Tabasco for Irene. Dad ordered 2 cups of coffee and took so much that at the end, we find that their sky juice tastes the best.

Since I don't give them anything after I start working, I offer to pay the bill. It's not surprising that the bill came up to RM660 even after a 20% discount. After the meal, we wandered around and I showed them the garden that me and Irene found suitable for garden events. Didn't take any photo of the place as it's too dark.

Before we left the place, everyone visited the toilet just to clear the gas and excess liquid from our body system. Just by looking at the laughter of my parents and girlfriend, makes every Ringgit I spent worth it.

Now...back to earning more money. :)

[eoe] Love is in the Air

Happy Thaipusam fellow readers, I've taken some photos of the festival...but as usual, I'll keep it to myself for the time being (excuse for being lazy) :P

Just for today, let's just skip Chinese New Year and look straight for Valentine's Day.I found out this contest from KimOng's blog. There's actually a contest where couples upload their own photos and compete for a RM200 AirAsia Flight Voucher.

One of the main criteria is that photos have to be submitted by an amateur. Since I'm not a professional (thankfully), I'm qualified to compete. Yay~

Not sure if the competition is open for voting, but couples out there can post up ur own photos to join the fun.

Here's the link. [LOVE IS IN THE AIR]

Toastmasters YangYang

I was the test speaker for Vistana on Jessica’s request. Over the weekend, I rehearsed in front of her for a few times, she gave me a few hints of improvement and it helps. But hours before my speech, I saw my unprocessed photos being published on the intranet, and the publisher is so naïve to post it up without giving me (the photographer) any credits. As a photographer, my photos are like a part of me as important as semens are to men, or how important virginity is to ok…enough of these.

Since Choobee helped me in making an impressive speech, I decided to buy her the mushroom she has been eyeing for in QBM. I don’t find anything interesting about the “cuteness” she’s talking about … but I will do anything to make her happy, as I’ve received tremendous applause from the floor. It’s different to be presenting a speech and be evaluated by 4 experienced toastmasters, but if everyone else is also giving me a good critique, that is something to be proud of. So I bought her the present to her house on purpose, she was grateful and happy that she hugged it tightly when I gave it to her.

But sadly I found something worrying when I was there. How would you feel if you have dandruff growing on your head? I’ll surely scratch it so hard I’ll bleed my forehead. But this baby of mine (yang2) doesn’t know how to complain. When I see him, he only knows how to jump on me and lick me while whacking his tail that is enough to spin a generator’s turbine.

When I found out, it’s already too late. There’s a flea colony growing on his thick hair. We spent a whole evening yet cannot finish killing all of them. After I gone home, Choobee continues to catch the flea one by one until midnight. Pity her.

Thursday evening I went to check again as her mom says that she already spent 3 hours with the fleas. But I still managed to find a lot hiding under yang2’s fur. Worst case I’ll have to shave him bald and let him grow all the hair back.

Getting Old

When driving Irene back home, I asked if she remembers how I celebrated her birthday in 2004. She’s stunned, “first year we had dinner at Eden's "The Ship", next year we go ..., and in 2004…2004…2004…” It’s only 3 years ago, but we are still sitting there trying hard to recall that incident.

Thankfully there is the digital age… I used to write down all my SMSes into a logbook, and even that doesn’t have a record. Then, I went online to Google for help, fortunately the event was recorded on my blog [Link]. I laughed out so loud I sprained my muscles. Back then The DaVinci code was the top selling novel, and I made her run all over the university just to find her birthday present. She was happy back then, but both of us can’t remember the incident if not for the record in my “digital diary”.

Moral of the story: Have to continue writing my blog. Else, all the things I've been working so hard to do will be forgotten in time.

Tiring weekend

After a 2 hour badminton session with my colleagues, Choobee came over to my place initially to work on some photos. As we reached home, I saw a huge pile of red soil blocking the side entrance. Mom told me that my dad has came up with yet another project. He dug out all the grass and plan to lift up the ground a little. Ever since I’m a kid, I never like to do gardening. Dad is the problem as he always laughs at me for not having enough strength, speed and endurance. So, I decided not to help him up but this time it’s different.

Before I can refuse to help, Choobee says she wanted to help. I thought I heard wrongly the first time, but she actually put down her stuffs and help up with gardening. According to her, she was never encouraged to touch the soil at home as her mom is doing all the work. And since she didn’t do well in her singing contest, she releases her temper on to the ground (talking about good anger management).

Of course I can’t let her work there alone, she drag me along to help move the sand after she fill up the trolley. While working, I started mumbling and complaining so much that dad, mom and Choobee started laughing at me non stop. I don’t like gardening, what’s so funny about that? Dad says I’ll understand when I get older, but I don’t think I ever will.

Looking at the way she work on the sand, I started to get worried. What if one day I went looking for Kookai again? I’ll certainly come back a dead meat. With the strength she has in her, she can easily slice me into pieces, dug a hole and bury me in a blink of an eye. No need any refrigerators, no need to dump on the sea or what not. Scary…better not think about that.

At night both of us have to get yokoyoko all over our body as our muscles are so painful. It’s funny to see 2 people massaging each other and pouring yokoyoko at each other’s body as others are playing with honey, chocolates or whipped cream. I can still feel the pain on my muscles thinking of that incident. *Ouch*

Christmas Eve

Oh Christmas Eve, Oh Christmas Eve...how do you peeps celebrate it? Let me share how I've enjoyed mine.

Waking up beside the person I loved, sweating away in the steam room, and followed by a 2 hour long Jacuzzi together. Next we cooked lunch and drank the coffee Cirnelle gave me for birthday last year. We bring our lunch out to the garden and chatted away while the cold breeze splatter some water from the waterfall into our food.

Later, Irene helped me to complete the umbrella that has been Pending attention for quite a while. Won't go into the details, but I think our "artistic" skills still need some improvement. Notice the catch light on my eyes? The umbrella's flaws can clearly be seen. That's the only complain I have, after saving RM140 by not getting a umbrella designed for flash.

Here's the catch light that you can see in my eyes. The umbrella also helps in diffusing the light source. Will need to trim it properly to reduce the red cast more.

Later in the evening, we paid a visit in most of the Hotels in Teluk Bahang/Batu Feringghi. Didn't take much pictures as the time is a bit limited. Most of the restaurants are fully booked, or too lavishly expensive. Eden's THE SHIP RM69/pax, Rasa Sayang RM150/pax, while Tanjung Country Club has a Wedding Dinner (on a Christmas EVE??? ).

Had our dinner at a Korean Tepanyaki shop instead. We've been there before, but the food is nice, cheap and the environment is acceptable. Left her in front of the Church for the mass before calling it a day.

So, how did you celebrate your Christmas Eve?

Together

Ever wonder why when people dance?
Our right arm will lift up her left,
while she will be happilly hold on to our's.

Together,
We will use all our strength to protect our love ones
In return, we will get the encouragement and support when we're down.

Anniversary @ Audees

It's a pity for anyone who became my partner. I'm so realistic and calculative that you won't get any surprises from me. Unless, you are someone who get used to being shocked all the time by my spontaneous decision making, and rushing you all the time.

Getting to know my mistake, took the opportunity at this special day to give her a surprise. Not actually a surprise, since most of the stuffs are being hinted and hinted for a very long time dy. It's been 4 years, over 1200 days that this very lady has being able to tolerate me being naive, stingy, rude, childish, cheating, releasing temper and make her cry and almost gave up. It is her, not me, who have been making this 4-year-old relationship works.

Paid a local florist to delivered a bouquet of flowers to her office, brought her some soft toy and drive her out for dinner is the least I can do to surprise her. Let's talk about Audees. It's a western restaurant which have the same concept as Roo's Cellar (for those who have been there before).

We were welcome by 2 waiters, and the supervisor leads us to our table. Since I made a reservation the night before, they kept the best seat for us. The set dinner came with a nice appetizer, soup and garlic bread. As for the main course, I have a fish while the lady had a chicken both are nicely done. Our dessert is ice-cream with fruits and since Mid-Autumn festival is around the corner, we have jelly mooncake on the house. The coffee is a bit bitter but that's the least of my complain.

Thankfully Irene ain't a demanding lady, I'm really glad that she enjoys the night. All my effort is well paid just by getting a simple smile for this chubby cute lady. May our relationship holding until the day we're hammered into the wooden box.

Choobee to, zhi toi ishyo nii tai.

I'm rather worried about Yang Yang (Our Dog) now. According to Irene, he doesn't look good and he has been sneezing quite a lot. They blame me for getting too close with Yang since I am still coughing, but I think that he's doing quite well still.

Irene will be monitoring his progress. If the situation doesn't get better, most probably have to bring him to the vet this weekend to have a medical checkup.

Get well soon Yang
